Tangled Sunflower (posted by Claire)

Hi there, Claire here with another card made using one of this months new releases,
Tangled Fragments has a fab assortment of stamps that you can use for so many projects. You can find them (and lots of other gorgeous new stamps here)

I began this card by making a distress ink background, using marker card which gave a completely different result to my usual cardstock. I quite liked the effect so I stamped the fragment stamp in a band along the right of the centre of the card and added some colour with Graph'It Markers. I stamped the flower (from Sunny Sunflowers) and again coloured with my Graph'Its. I cut the flowers out and decoupaged them over my stamped border.
To finish off I stamped the sentiment (from Birthday Words) in Rhubarb Stalk Memento Ink and added some gems in the corners.

Thanks for visiting today

  7. I love the red and green in this card, and the red suits the sunflower beautifully, and the red mat picks up on it perfectly. The fragments in the background are used very creatively too. Altogether a wonderful card. x

  10. I don't know if you intended it but as soon as I saw your card I thought of the Great Barrier Reef - the flower reminds me of a beautiful fish or 'plant' on the reef and your fronds of sea grasses - I know I don't always see the same as others and this is the case here - love it! Karen xx

  11. Striking colours especially with the red gems in the corners - the way they echo the shapes in the tangled fragment is brilliant never mind the superb echoing of colour in the sunflower's petals. The dimensional shaping of the flower petals is superbly effective.
