Spring Blue Bird (by Shirley)

Hello everyone, I hope you are doing well.

I have a design today featuring the new Spring Bird -Tulip set.

The background is Dylusions inks with a little Brushos sprinkled over top and then spritzed with water.  I stamped in the background with the little decorative stamp at the top and tulips (hard to see) on  the bottom half which created some depth.  I coloured the sweet bird image with pencils which I love to use for small detailed images.  I added a little glitter to the flower centres.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day,
Shirleyx

  2. The tiny touch of glitter on the flower centres is so effective & I particularly like the way your yellow elements are clustered like mustard plants at the base of the card & then picked out with the mustard card base. The black matting both on the die cut panel & the image panel's frame is so effective with the stark contrast drawing the eye. Terrific focal use of the blues solely for the bird & her eggs.

  3. This is gorgeous Shirley and the colours are so springlike. The beautifully coloured bird in the foreground and then the touch of stamping in the background with the tulips and one of the more ornamental stamps at the top, and the yellow makes me think of a carpet of pretty daffodils. You do these backgrounds so well! The inking to emphasis the edge works wonderfully against the cream and ties in with the black mat behind, which in turn is complemented by that mustard yellow base card. x
