Fifteen Minute Cards

Hello everyone, welcome to our monthly selection of  quick makes, made in fifteen minutes or less. These projects, brought to you by the Design Team and Guest Design Team members, demonstrate how you can use the fabulous stamp designs from Chocolate Baroque to create stylish, elegant and eye-catching cards in next to no time, with just a few materials. The ideas are perfect if you're a beginner to crafting, if you need a card in a hurry, or if you wish to make a project to sell at a craft fair. If you want to make several cards for Christmas, or a wedding perhaps, then some of these designs could be adapted to use for those occasions. Hopefully, we can inspire you, whatever the occasion.

This month's post is crammed full of projects, so grab a cuppa, and enjoy what we have prepared for you.

Anne has created a very pretty collection of floral cards stamped onto Crafty Individuals background papers. All of the images were stamped with Versafine Onyx Black Ink and embossed with clear embossing powder. She used a mixture of watercolour pens, Distress Inks gouache paints and sparkle pens to colour the images.

Anne has also created an elegant Christmas card for us, using simple black stamping for the focal design, and added bold red accents:

Claire has used gilding flakes for her Christmas card. She has edged the card with the flakes as well. The stamp's intricate detail works really well with the flakes, and even the sentiment can be seen clearly:

We have a trio of floral cards from Rachel next. The first is an unusual staggered design, coloured with Distress Ink:

The second card is very dramatic, white embossing on a black background:

Finally, white embossing on kraft card, coloured with pencils:

Rachel has also made three Christmas cards for us. The first, in black. white and red, uses white embossing as a resist for the background:

The second uses an unusual colour combination of orange and yellow, which is evocative of Clarice Cliff with the large image from the Reindeer Landscape stamp set:

Finally, more white embossing on kraft card for her last card:

Marga has also used white embossing on kraft card for her monochrome effect Christmas card:

Next, we have some pretty Brusho cards from Magda. She has created the backgrounds using Brushos, and also added colour to the images here and there with Brushos as well:

Using the same stamp, the following card was stamped with Versamark, and mica powders were added for a shimmery finish:

For her final card, she has created a Distress Ink background, and applied gesso through the Seasonal Elements stencil:

For my first card, I created a bubble effect background by adding metallic paint and washing up liquid to some water in a bowl, and blowing bubbles through a straw. I patted the card onto the bubbles to create a pattern on the card repeatedly until the card was covered. I stamped the tree image and sentiment with teal coloured ink. I stamped several snowflakes in tones of blue, and added some teal coloured Stickles.

For my second card, I used a decorative corner, and created a wreath shape by stamping the image eight times with olive coloured ink. I added clear embossing powder as I went along. I added a sentiment in the centre, adding embossing powder again, then heat set everything with a heat gun.

Carole has created a very pretty card using white embossing and the Harlequin Rose stamp set. She has added pink Distress Ink to colour the panels, adding a deeper amount of colouring to the front panel for added dimemsion:

Zoe has created a vibrant purple toned card, using an image from the Fancy Flowers stamp set. The simple purple matting and a few sequins are a great finishing touch to this CAS design:

Brenda has created has created her floral cards by masking off the edges of the card and inking up a vertical panel. She has then stamped the images over the top.

She has created some fabulous Christmas cards for us this month as well. The first card has been created by repeatedly stamping the tree image in black, but adding one image in red as a focal point. Adding red accents really helps to concentrate the eye on the main image.

Using part of an image is a great design idea, and Brenda has used just part of the main image from the Reindeer Landscape stamp set within a bauble stencil. The blue tones, accentuated by a blue ribbon are really pretty:

Brenda has used repeat stamping in this design, to create a background panel. Sometimes you might not know what to do with these 'extra' stamps in the stamp sets, and we try to give you inspiration with our design ideas:

For Brenda's last card, she has chosen cool lilac tones for this monochrome card:

Finally, we have four super cards from Vronnie, perfect for those quick Christmas cards. The first two, all black and white, demonstrate that you do not need to add any extra colour to create fabulous cards using a simple black inkpad.

Some simple silver embossing next, to create a cool design:

The final one adding a touch of blue and green is still simple in design, showing how you could easily make a batch of these cards, just by changing the colour, and using up some of your scraps of card:
We hope that you have enjoyed this month's selection of cards, and we will bring you another post full of inspiration next month. In the mean time, do keep visiting the blog for a daily dose of magic from our regular Design Team posts. Thanks for stopping by,
