Autumn Creations (by Gerrina)

Hello everyone, this month sees the return of Gerrina as our Guest Designer for the following three weeks. She has created two super Autumn themed projects for us this week.

Gerrina writes:

So glad that it is my time to be Guest Designer here again! Can't believe that it is slowly starting to look like Autumn again outside. So let's start my three-weeks-in-a-row-on-Wednesday posts with some Autumn creations....
I first made a card with a technique I learned in a class that I followed in the Summer. I made it totally in Autumn colours...

Used Materials:

Stamps: Autumn Edges
Ink: Alcohol inks, Stazon Black
Other: Postcard, silver tape, gesso and alcohol, brown, yellow and silver cardstock, black fineliner

Work Process:

Glue some silver tape on the card. Put some thin gesso on spots wherever you like. Let some drops of alcohol ink in yellow and brown colours fall on the card and blow them in the direction you want with a straw. Stamp the mushrooms with black Stazon and remove some of the colour from inside the mushrooms with alcohol. Glue the card on brown, yellow and silver cardstock and extend the lines from the stamp further onto the cardstock using the fineliner pen.

The second project that I made is a bookmark to go with the card, made in a more traditional technique for alcohol inks.
The bookmark on both sides:

Used Materials:

Stamps: Nature Table
Inks: Alcohol Inks- Terracotta, Oregano and Lettuce, Versafine Onyx Black, Distress Inks- Walnut Stain, Vintage Photo, Antique Linen, Wild Honey, Spiced Marmelade, Fired Brick and Peeled Paint
Other: Yupo paper, aquarelpaper, waterbrush, blending tool, paintbrush and magnets

Work Process:

Put some drops of alcohol ink on the Yupo paper and blow them a bit in different directions. Rub them out with a blending tool and felt ink applicator, and make some red and green spots with the blending tool. Stamp the chestnuts on a piece of aquarelpaper and color with the Distress Ink and a waterbrush. Make some splatters with green Distress Ink, and the edges a bit green with the blending tool. Fold both pieces and glue the Yupo paper on top of the aquarelpaper. Glue some magnets on the inside and it is ready to use.

Creatieve groetjes,
