baroque ornaments and PVA

I remembered seeing a card on FB by Doreen Sympson last year that used a technique with PVA on stamps - I did try it, but wasn't too happy with the result at the time.
I decided to try again, but this time I used very cheap PVA instead of the decent stuff, and was much happier with the results.
Basically, lay the stamp face upwards, and cover with PVA glue - you need enough to cover the image, but not enough to give a thick coat.
I sprinkled brusho powders over the glue as well, and left them to spread.
Once the glue is dry - will take several hours - carefully peel off from the stamp and trim if necessary. Two of my pieces were trimmed down considerably because the edges weren't thick enough to hold together when I peeled the set glue off the stamp -still, they made nice flowers!
I added some silver rub-on wax to highlight the design, stamped the leaves and sentiment from the bold blooms set and added my PVA pieces.
A spare piece went onto the cover of a small notebook, with a piece of leftover brusho card as background

Baroque Ornament Palm Fan Silhouette Card (by Anne)

The Baroque Ornament stamps are simply gorgeous. Here is my first project using the Palm Fan Silhouette stamp. I combined it with a pretty background paper from Crafty Individuals.
Materials:

Step By Step:
  1. Stamp the ornament onto the centre of the patterned paper with Versamark. Emboss with a mix of the embossing powders to create a vintage effect.
  2. Colour with the aqua pens and cut out. Cut around the central petals and lift to give shape. Glue to another patterned paper sheet.
  3. Colour the outer border with the yellow pen and edge with the black marker.
  4. Stamp the border onto the cad base with the pale ochre ink. Edge the card with the black pen to frame.
  5. Glue to the topper onto the card front.
  6. Add dots of glue around the border and sprinkle with the fine glitter. Add PVA pearls and sprinkle with glitter. Remove excess glitter when dry.
  7. Finally add Glossy Accents to the outer layer of the ornament.

Fabulous Ornaments launch today (by Lesley)

I am so excited to be launching some gorgeous stamps today.  Baroque Ornaments is a collection of six individually cling mounted stamps each with their own unique pattern.  These are loosely based on the traditional mandalas but Sue has used her imagination to bring them right up to date.

I am sure you just want to see them now to here we go with the first three.

From left to right there is Tangled Baroque Ornament, Dots 'n Stripes Baroque Ornament and Palm Fan Baroque Ornament.

The second three look like this

I think Sue has done her usual magic and created some stunning images. Each individual stamp is cling mounted and cut out ready for you to starting playing as soon as you get them out of the packet. And of course we have this full collection available as a money saving multi-buy if you really can't decide.

Here is a sneaky peak at a gorgeous sample from Zoe which shows the Teardrop Silhouette stamp off to perfection.

I hope you have as much fun with these as the Design Team, who have been colouring and inking and creating more exciting samples for you to show off the new stamps.

I think that Zoe has chosen a wonderful sentiment for her card, it eptomises what stamping is all about. It really is an adventure into creating your own art and seeing just how imaginative you can be. So why not join us on a new adventure everyday with our wonderful Design Teams' daily dose of inspiration.
