Poppy Edges - By Florence

Hi Everyone

Thank you to everyone for your lovely comments and kind words left on the posts.  We all love to hear from you.

Today I would like to share with you all two cards made using the beautiful new Poppy Edges Rubber Stamps.

These stamps are brilliant for making tags, cards, altered art projects, lovely boarders/embellishments for scrap-booking.  They also stamp brilliantly onto wood.

For my first card, I mixed the Poppy Edge stamp with one of the boarder stamps from the Elegant Edges set which was released a few months ago.

For the main focal piece I coated a piece of basic white card stock with White Gesso.

I stamped the purple flowers first, masked them with Masking Tissue and then stamped the poppies.

I then, using a piece of Cut'n'Dry, covered the surface, avoiding the flowers as much as possible, with Distress Ink.

I dribbled some water, mainly around the flowers, onto the background to give it a mottled look.
I placed a mask/stencil over the card and applied more of the Distress Ink.

I then cleaned up my stamped images by removing any unwanted ink.  By using Gesso for the base, it is easy to remove any unwanted ink from the stamped images using a clean damp paint brush and paper towel.

I stamped my little bees. They are adorable!!

I colored the flowers and bees with felt pens and added highlights and shadows by moving around and removing the ink with a damp paint brush.

I gave everything a quick spray with a fixative, made up the card as seen and added a touch of Gel Medium to just the flowers.

For my second card I just used one of the flower boarders from the set and repeat stamped it using Masking Tissue.

This was a really quick card to make.

I stamped the images using Archival Ink onto Coated Card Stock for my main piece.

I colored the flowers roughly using some diluted Distress Ink and a damp paint brush and then fussy cut around the stamped piece.

I punched some holes in the top of the card and thread some ribbon through.

I made up the card as seen using pretty papers which I scuffed up the edges and added a little bit of bling to the center of each flower.

Thank you for looking.

Happy Stamping.

Santa Baby and Snowy Penguins - By Florence

Hi everyone

I hope you are enjoying the weekend.

Today I would like to share two cards I made using the new Santa Baby and Snowy Penguins stamp sets.  I hope you like them.

These are amazing sets off stamps.  The beauty of all of the new stamp sets is the choice.  There are so many stamps on one sheet.  The images are fabulous used on their own or, as with all of Chocolate Baroque stamps, they are perfect for mixing and matching.

I mixed the little sleigh image from the Santa Baby Set with one of Chocolate Baroque's Carousel Horses.

I stamped the Sleigh and the Horse and colored the images.  I added a some Distress Ink around the edge of the stamped card and stamped some snowflakes.  I then made up the card as seen and added some bling to connect the two images.

These penguins are adorable.  Seriously, once you start stamping with them you will not be able to stop.  They are so addictive.

I stamped the penguins multiple times with the aid of masking tissue.  I added some Distress Ink around the edge of the card and stamped the snowflakes.  I used a felt pen and added some red dots between the flakes.  I then made up the card as seen adding a little ribbon.

Full details of how I made these cards can be found on my Card Making Blog Here

Take care and happy stamping

Honeysuckle Butterfly and Turtle Doves - By Florence

Hi everyone

Today I would like to share two card that I made using the fantastic Honeysuckle Butterfly Set and the beautiful Turtle Doves Set.

To make my card, I dapped some Distress Ink onto a plain old plastic file wallet, spritzed it with water and swished a piece of white coated card stock over it.
I then stamped the leaf pattern using Hydrangea and Plum colored Archival Ink.
I stamped the sentiment "With Love" using one of the stamps from the Mackintosh Sentiments set.
I stamped the little butterflies onto white coated card stock and colored them in with felt pens and added some little wires.
I made up the card as seen adding a small piece of plasters tape and attaching the butterflies with foam tabs.

I made this card in exactly the same way as mentioned above but this time just adding a die cut with  "Thanks for being a True Friend" stamped onto it and a few gems.  The sentiment is from the Mackintosh Sentiments Set.

This was such a quick card.
I stamped the Partridge in a Pear Tree image onto white Coated Card Stock and colored the partridge and pears with a damp paint brush and felt pens.  I fussy cut the image and then added some diamond glaze over the pears.

I then assembled the card as seen using a die cut snowflake boarder, a piece of my own two tone backing paper and a strip of bling down the edge. I used foam tabs to attach the tree to make it 3D.

Have a wonderful weekend.
I hope you have time to fit in some crafting.

Thank you for looking

Happy Birthday by Doreen

Hello to you all, I am back with another sample made from the new stamps that have been released for August  My card uses one of the stamps from  the "Thistle Butterfly"  stamp sheet which I have inked up and coloured Dusty Concord and Bundled Sage  Distress inks. I then inked around the edge  again with Dusty Concord and then matted this onto white card.......

My background was made by inking all over with Dusty Concord Distress ink and then over stamping with another one of the stamps from the sheet.  The butterfly has been inked up with the same colour too and cut out. All that was left to do was to assemble it all together and add the sentiment.xxx

I am also sharing a Christmas card this time using stamps from the  "Turtle Doves stamp sheet". I first of all clear embossed the stamp with black Versafine then using a mask for the moon blended Faded Jeans and Black Soot distress inks for the sky. Patchwork Landscape Door Hanger (By Doreen)

Hello to you all, I am so excited as this is my first post as a DT member. I am  sharing  a wooden Door Hanger that I have decorated  using the fabulous Patchwork Landscape and Springtime Edges stamp sheets .

I first made my background by painting with a coat of Gesso and then blending various colours of  acrylic paints over the top. I stamped my images using  black Versafine onto some white tissue paper and  then coloured the flowers on the reverse before applying PVA glue and attaching this to the hanger. After letting this dry I went on and stamped a script stamp in various places using white acrylic paint followed by one of the stamps from the Eastern Grasses stamp sheet this was stamped with Black Versafine.... The edges were then inked with Black soot Distress ink. Last of all was the sentiment stamp inked up with black Versafine.
