Guest Post - Creative Crates by Gerrina Poncin

Hello and welcome to the second post from our resident Guest Design Team member Gerrina. This week she inspires us all to create some very attractive storage crates.

This time something completely different! There are some little crates standing around in the house for a while now; the ones where you can buy manderins in, just waiting to get inked. Last week I started to work on them.

At first I put gesso on it, but it looked not white enough to me, so I painted it with white acrilyc paint. I made this crate again with the beautiful Mackintosh stamp sets. First I stamped with Stazon in different colours. Let it dry completely before colouring them in with a waterbrush and Distress Ink and a little bit of iridescent medium.

Here you can see each side of the crate

As I said above there are more of those crates waiting to get some ink on. It is fun to do and my craftroom will look a little bit uncluttered again!

Thanks for looking!

I think that your craftroom will look wonderful with the beautifully decorated crates Gerrina, thank you for sharing this with us.  Please feel free to leave a comment and if you would like to see more designs from Gerrina why not visit her blog.

Gerrina will be back again next week with another inspiring project.

Guest Post- Mackintosh Box by Gerrina Poncin

I would like you to welcome the second of our new Guest Design Team members to make an appearance on the Design Team blog, Gerrina Poncin. Gerrina will be sharing some projects throughout the month on the blog with you, but you can also see her work on her own blog at Gerrina's Creatieve Wereld. Please take a moment to enjoy her beautiful Mackintosh inspired project.

For the first of my Guest Design Team posts this month at Chocolate Baroque, I altered a box that I use to store some stamping tools in. I used the beautiful Mackintosh stamp sets, they are sets that I have used many times before, but they really are some of my favourite sets from Chocolate Baroque...
I also used some of the beautiful quotes from the Artistic Affirmations stamp set. I sponged and coloured it all with Distress Inks and a blending tool and a water brush.

First of all, I glued blue card stock to all sides of the box. Next, I cut the papers to fit on the sides of the box. Then I stamped the images and masked them, before sponging all five papers with Dusty Concord Distress Ink. After removing the masks, I coloured the images with Distress Inks and a water brush. I had so much fun colouring them all. The best bit was to see how it all came together when I glued the pieces on the box!

Love the fact that you have altered an already useful item Gerrina, and that it will therefore be on display. Gerrina will be back again soon, but in the meantime, please take time to leave a comment for her.

Mackintosh Windows (by Shirley)

Hello everyone, I hope you are doing well.

I have one more design featuring stamps from the new Mackintosh Windows and Mackintosh Beauty sets.

The background is design paper from my stash.  The windows were stamped with black Archival ink and coloured with Prisma Pencils.   I popped them up on a black mat but it's hard to see that in the photo.

I'm looking forward to more play with the fabulous Mackintosh stamp sets.

Thanks for your visit and have a great day!
Shirley
