Summer Fair lady (by Miranda)

Hi there,

When I first saw the new designs of these women faces ...I was in love........so I was very happy to be able playing with them and this is my first one.........she is called 'Summer Fair' and I have combined her with one of the lovely ornament stamps called ' Palm Fan Baroque ornament'

I stamped the lady using light coloured inks than masked her and stamped the ornament using a grey ink.

Than the fun part started.....colouring both with color pencils, took me a while..........When I was finished coloring I gave some accents using a gold gelly pen and a white marker.

Hope I did inspire you with this one and I will be back with more of these lovelies soon.........in the mean while enjoy all the beautiful artwork of the DT!

Thanks for visiting and till next time,

An old rose (by Miranda)

Hello there,

Happy to be here again and show you my play with one of the older CB stamps called Rose Set.
It's a very detailed rose but it is gorgeous I think...it took me some while but as I love to color it was not a punishment.......

I made the background again with a favorite technique I am using quit a lot these day, fluid inks.....like Ecoline and used also white to get that soft coloured finish. Some parts are coloured using Distress inks and some are coloured using pencils. It's tricky to use water based mediums over the top because the background stays reactive........

Randomly I stamped partial the small text fragment from Eccentric Edwardian sheet using Memento Toffee Crunch.

The next step was stamping several ornament stamps from the Fancy Flourishes clear stamp sheet. I have embossed them using clear mat embossing powder and blended afterwards with Distress inks to let them pop......

Than just some plain stamping with these ornaments and adding some crackle effects using the crackle fragment from the Echoes of Italy.
Well, enough text for now, onto the card......

Hope you did enjoyed it and hope to see you next time!
Thanks for your visit and I always like to read your comments, any questions....feel free to ask!

Dreamy Steampunk travel (by Miranda)

Hi there lovely people,

For now my last blogpost....again with one of the images of the Steampunk travel sheet. This time I have used the mobile phone.......the lovely ornament from the Steampunk Butterfly sheet and some gears from the Steampunk Christmas and the Punky flowers sheet. All gorgeous sheets which combine with each other perfectly. And of course there are more Steampunk sheets at CB.....just type steampunk into the search area and you will see them all!

Here is the card.....
I have made an inky background using fluid inks and stamped the ornament twice in each corner. I have coloured the mobile phone using color pencils and embossed the gears using copper embossing powder.

a close-up......I have coloured the gear on the telephone using a copper gelli-pen.

Hope to have set your' gears' in motion with this steampunk inspiration and I will just say we will ' see' each other again in blogland or somewhere in digital space! I just can't leave the Chocolate Baroque scene.........
Thanks for all your lovely comments and encouragement through the years!
We sure will meet again on our creative path!

Steampunk travel (by Miranda)

Hi there,

Today another one of my Steampunk travel posts. I have used both the Steampunk travel and the Steampunkery sheets. I have mad a background using Brusho and Bister pigment powders onto water based paper (300 grs.). It creates a real old and worn look.

I have stamped both sizes of the balloon and used all of the words which are on both sheets. I have colored them with pencils and added some gear die cuts.

Thanks for your visit and till the 31st for my last blogpost!

Have a lovely day,

Studded Lattice (by Miranda)

Hello there,

Today I have another new background to show to you, the Studded Lattice. Like this very versatile background. Can you imagine the possibilities? I know I am going to use this often.....
I have used one of the Crealies Patchwork dies to create this card.

Again, as in my last blogpost I have combined this background with one of the lovely flower heads and this is the ' Daisy Centre flowerhead'. I have embossed it with silver embossing powder and coloured it with water based markers. The studded Lattice is stamped with Versafine black and after I have finished the card I've added some silver pearl pen accents.

Well, hope to have inspired you with this one......
Christmas is coming soon and I wish you all wonderful days!

Thanks for all your encouragement en lovely comments and hope to see you soon in the New Year!

Baroque Orchids (by Miranda)

Hi there lovely people,

I felt lucky being able to play with the new background stamp, Baroque Orchids. It's so versatile to use, this time I have partially stamped it on pattern paper and repeated that once. Than the fun part did start.......the coloring with coloured pencils.

I also used one of the great flower heads with it, 'the Daisy Ring centre flowerhead'. I've embossed it twice with gold embossing powder and coloured it with water based markers. Than decoupaged one of the flowers.

I embossed some leaves of the Sunny flowers sheet and coloured them the same way. The text is from the  'Amazing' Birthday'  clear stamp sheet.

I've added some pearl pen accents on the flower head and it was done!

Thanks for your visit, always appreciates your comments and hope to see you next time!

Flowers of ice (by Miranda)

Hello lovely people,

Where I live (in the Netherlands) the weather is changing.....it's getting colder and it feels like Winter is finally coming. So to stay in the same sphere I created some flowers of ice with one of the new flower heads. I have used the Circle center flowerhead. I like all the six new flower heads and could not make a choice if I had to......so they can also be bought in a multi-buy which saves you some money and than you can play with all of them!

I had already this icy coloured background in my stash, made with fluid inks on water based paper and some salt effects. As you can see I have also used some sparkling paste through a stencil on the background.

I have stamped the flowers using Memento de Luxe in different colors for each flower. Than I have embossed them with Wow clear silver highlight embossing powder which has a lot of holographic sparkles. I coloured them with water based markers and decoupaged them.

The word Bliss is from the Artistic Affirmations sheet.

From a different angle so you can see the sparkle even better.......

I hope I have inspired you with these flowers of ice.......
Thanks for your visit and hope to see you next time!

It's all about exquisity.........(by Miranda)

Hello crafty people,

Today I have a lovely combination to show you made with the Exquisite edges and one of  the Fabulous Flapper ladies. I think they are a good match......
I had this background with the deco flowers for quiet a while . The flowers come from the Nouveau lovebirds. There are so many sheets in the CB collection that will combine perfectly with these edges, all elegant and stylish!

And now onto my card.......

The background was made using Distress inks onto watercolor paper. Some shading with color pencils and adding some white highlights. I have embossed the upper edge using Wow embossing powder Ruby Romance and the lower edge was done using one of the new colors, Atlantic seaspray, a turquoise with gold sparkles.

Than I stamped the lady....I used a few Memento colors to ink her up and dabbed the ink on the lower part of her dress to let it fade. Than I extended some lines with color pencils.

Hope to have inspired you, I had fun doing this one.......
Thanks for visiting and always like to read your comments,

Have a lovely weekend,

Exquisite edges (by Miranda)

Hello crafty people,

Today I have another sample to show you. I've been playing with fluid inks(like Ecoline), a Joggles stencil (Secret garden) and the beautiful Exquisite edges.

I wanted to keep it simple and I have just stamped the edges using Versafine Imperial purple and coloured afterwards with some color pencils. And as finishing touch a lot of white accents with an acrylic marker.
I have added the sentiment from the Artistic Expressions.

And here is the card......

So if you don't have the time to create an inky background you can also use some beautiful pattern paper and use the same stamping and coloring technique. Or one of Lesley's lovely download papers?
Hope to see your creations too with these beautiful stamps!

Have a truly amazing Birthday......(by Miranda)

Hi there lovely people,

Today I will show you my first take on the new stamps. I have played with the new beautiful Exquisite edges. They combine so beautiful with all the Art Deco/Nouveau style stamps which Chocolate Baroque has in their collection.
I have combined them with the Fabulous Flappers and a sentiment from the Amazing Birthday wishes.

Well now onto my card.........
I have stamped the edges with several Memento colors; Peanut Brittle,Morocco, Potters Clay, Rhubarb stalk and Rich Cacao. The center piece was blended with matching Distress inks. I stamped a part of the edge with white ink. I stamped a part of one of the ladies of the fabulous flappers and coloured her with color pencil and some white acrylic marker accents.

I really love this style of stamps and I will be happy to play more with them, so next time more art deco style from me.

Thanks for watching and always enjoy to read your comments!

Another Halloween creation (by Miranda)

Hi there,

Today my 2nd take on the Halloween stamps and this time I've used the Crealies Modern Patchwork die no.3 and used several stamps from the two Halloween sheets called, Hocus Pocus and Put a spell on you.
I also used some stamps(bats and spiderweb) to decorate the die cut flowers from Crealies( set of 3 nr.23 and the largest flower is a UNO die no.23)
Again I used my favorite ' in between flower layers' die, Double fun nr.12.
Now onto the rest of the card.........
I have blended all the pieces and stamped the images. Some are coloured with pencils, it's a pretty simple card.

I have also added some Magic transparant pearl pen to create some dew drops on the petals.........

Well, hope you've enjoyed my take on it!
Thanks for your visit and till next time,

Strange creatures.......(by Miranda)

Hi world,

Miranda here showing you a spooky Halloween creation with a strange creature.........I love playing with the Halloween colors and I had fun making this one.......the center image is a special creature, a mix between an owl, bat and dragon........love him! I surrounded him with bats and down below some spiderwebs and toadstools. It's an inky background with a lot of water spatters and I've done some stenciling with a Crafters workshop stencil.(Rebekah Meier-Rosette)
I have coloured everything with color pencils.
The stamps are from the ' Hocus Pocus' sheet from CB. And I used some extra spiderwebs from  Halloween candle and Book of Spells.
The quote is from the Put a Spell on you sheet.

Are you inspired to get your crafting tools out and have a play?

Christmas angels......day and night (by Miranda)

Hi there,

Today I will show you my creations made with  Serena, the lovely Christmas Angel.
I have made an Angel of Day and an angel of Night, at least that is my interpretation! I love working with faces and these beautiful designs are a joy to work with, thanks to our talented designer!

I have worked on a background made with acrylic paints and fluid inks, like Ecoline.  Also sprinkled some Iridescent medium which creates lovely shimmer.
The ' Angel of Day' has pale colors and I've combined her with the flowers of the Christmas rose sheet. They are a perfect match with the flowers of the image. I have colored the image with colour pencils and  decoupaged them.
Here is the card.........

And the Angel of Night........here I've added another stamp, an ivy leaf that I've colored with all the matching colors. It's from the New England Winter sheet. Here I have colored the image and the decoupaged items using waterbased markers and gave some accents with a white acrylic marker.

Well, I hope I have inspired you with these beautiful angels! Thanks for your visit and I always enjoy reading your comments!
