Brusho Journal pages (by Judith)

Hello everyone, I have a project that is a departure from my usual projects today. We are exploring texture on the Design Team Blog this month, and I decided to create a two page journal spread, using layers to give a feeling of texture to the pages.

I started by sprinkling Brushos onto the pages, (which I had placed newspaper underneath, so that I could keep the rest of the journal dry), and then spritzed the pages with water. I used two large spare pieces of watercolour paper to blot the pages, so that the excess water did not run everywhere, and I now have two extra pieces of background for later.

I added some stencilling with both Distress Ink and white paint. I chose to use in particular Three Quarter Face, and added a stamped image from the Texture Fragments stamp set below to give the suggestion of a lacy dress. I also added an image from the Tangled Fragments stamp set to build up the background layers.

Finally, I added sentiments from the Positive Pants and Rockstar Diva stamp sets.

Keep checking back for more colourful inspiration from my Team mates. Thanks for stopping by, Judith xx

Steampunk Birds (by Julie)

Hello crafty people and welcome to a brand new month here at Chocolate Baroque.
We have some fabulous new stamps launching here on Thursday, but while you are waiting I thought I would keep you busy with a fun card made with the Steampunk Birds.

The background has been stamped with Studded Lattice, that I inked with Sepia Versafine. To get the gaps in the stamped background, I took the stamp directly to the card, without a mounting block and rolled it over the background pressing random areas. I then applied Peacock Feathers and Spiced Marmalade Distress inks.
I inked up the cockerel stamp with Onyx Black Versafine and stamped onto water colour card and did the same for the little chick, before water-colouring with brush markers. I then cut the cockerel out with an oval die. You will have noticed that the tail feathers overhang the oval, so before you die cut, take some scissors and cut out the fiddly tail feathers and then place the oval die under the cut feathers and around the area of the cockerel you wish to cut.
The cockerel has been mounted onto a larger die cut oval that was stamped with the Studded Lattice and the card was finished off with a sentiment from Positive Pants .

Thanks for stopping by and hope to see you again soon for more Design Team inspiration.

New Fragment Stamps launched today

Well here we are almost the end of another month and it's time to launch some fabulous new stamps.  We are continually being told by you that you love our range of Fragment related stamps so this month we're adding to the series with two more stunning examples.

First there is Rustic Fragments

closely followed by Seasonal Fragments.

Both these A4 sets are available individually or as one of our ever popular multi-buys.

There are loads of brilliant images on these stamps ranging from fabric to basket weave and snowflakes to leaves. All of these stamps can be used with many other crafty products; I stamped through a stencil for the card featured here today but you can use them with paints, inks, clay, UTEE, there are so many possibilities.

Also available today are a selection of clear word stamps. These are being released in two sizes, first we have

Awesome Diva
and Positive Beauty
Each of these sets will arrive packed in one of our A5 storage wallets and are excellent for card making etc

However, for those of you who love journalling and mixed media projects we have decided to also offer these in a larger format, which will really make a statement on your artwork. Once again they are packaged in an A5 wallet for easy storage.

So we have the same words, only much larger, and they are released in the following four sets:

Awesome Today
Rockstar Diva
Positive Pants
and finally See Beauty
Now you can have your own sets of journalling words to complement your creativity. Just please bear in mind that we only have a limited stock of all the clear word set so you may have to wait a little while for more stocks to arrive, but they are definitely worth the wait. If you are concerned on which size may be suitable for your projects the description on the website of each stamp set contains the measurements of both the smallest and largest stamps.

I am really excited about all our new releases as I can see so many ways in which they can be used and I know you are going to just love them.

As usual the Design Team girls have been creating magic with the new Fragment sets so there will be lots of inspirational artwork for you to see over the next month. Hope you can join us and have a thoroughy wonderful stamping time.
