Good morning, Claire here with my first sample using the fab new Nevermore stamp sheet. I love making Halloween projects so I've had loads of fun with these gorgeous stamps.
I used a Kaisercraft frame (I'm not sure if Glenda has any of these in stock) and painted it with black acrylic paint, adding gilding wax once it was dry. I creaed the backgrounds using distress inks (Peeled Paint, rusty Hinge and seedless preserves) and the spritz and flick technique. I added a moon in the larger panels. Next I stamped all the images using Memento Tuxedi Black Ink. I inked in a cliff below the castle and drew in some telephone wires to sit the birds on. I added a little colour with Graph'It Markers and some white highights with a white gel pen. To finish off I attached a glass cabochon to the date with some glossy accents and added a little bottle of poison (actually a tiny perfume sample bottle filled with a drop of distress reinker and a little water)
Thanks for popping by today,
Claire xx
Super little details with this & I just love the background - the way you've balanced the two text panels in the layout is a lovely piece of composition.

That is wonderful, I love every detail.
ReplyDeleteThis is superb, I like the way you have presented these lovely little paintings and the addition of the bottle of "poison" was very clever.
ReplyDeleteLOVE THIS!!!!
ReplyDeletecan you point to somewhere you've explained the spritz and flick technique? Mine never look as good as yours!!!
hi! I've been checking back daily to see if you might respond to the question on how to make the background? I've noticed in many of my favorite posts that the directions are pretty unclear - what types of paper, how you applied the inks, etc. and I can't seem to get anywhere near your technique and giving up in frustration. I want to buy MORE products and try MORE techniques, not give up.... (but getting frustrated to the point of wasting product).. thanks!

Deletesorry you are frustrated at the lack of technique information. The DT do a brilliant job coming up with creative ideas, but they don't always have the time to go into great detail on techniques, so may I suggest that you sign up for my Monday Mojo emails as I am currently offering a free weekly email with projects or techniques broken down into stages with step by step photos.
Click here to find the archive of previous emails, plus a sign up form on my own blog, or visit glendawaterworth.com and look for the MONDAY MOJO link in the menu bar at the top.
All the best,
Glenda
Superb piece of art I'd not have thought of using that colour combo it works so well and all the details look fab too
