Blue and White Baroque Tiles card (by Anne)

Good morning. This was one of my recent show samples using the Baroque Corners stamp set. I built up a pattern using the large and small corners in Blue & white, reminiscent of vintage tiles.

Materials:
How to make it:
  1. Stamp the large corner stamp onto each of the 4 corners of the card blank. It is easiest to turn your card 90 degrees between stamping. An acrylic block with grid markings also helps to align the stamp straight with the edge of the card. I used the Tim Holtz stamping platform which made the pattern stamping really easy. Simply stamped, turned the card on the platform (butting it up against the platform ridges) and stamped again. It is not essential to use a stamping platform or alignment tool but it does make it so easy and quick. No hovering and aiming.
  2. Edge the card with blue marker to frame and draw faux stitching with the fine tipped pen.
  3. Trim the next panel to 13cm square and stamp using the smaller corner stamp. Add the faux stitching and layer onto the dark blue card. Glue to the card front with foam pads for added dimension.
  4. Trim the next panel to 11.5cm and stamp the small corner stamp into the centre. It may help to draw pencil cross hairs to help alignment. The little sticky out swirls also help you see where you are going and help align the stamps square.
  5. Stamp the sentiment into the space in the middle. This is quite easy to align with the clear stamp. Trim off the corners (at 45 degrees) to create the octagonal shape. Note: not all the sides are equal, 4 sides are a little shorter than the other 4. Add the faux stitching and mount onto blue card. Attach to the card front with foam pads.

Awesome, Creative, Amazing (by Brenda)

Morning Peeps, just popping in with my final few shares made with the stamps Lesley showcased on Hochanda recently.

If I had to choose a favourite from the lovely Seasonal Ladies I think it would be Autumn Medley  featured on the card above, mainly because I just love working with Autumnal colours. My starting point was to stamp the image with Versamark and emboss with detail copper before colouring in with Distress Inks. Using a mask and texture paste I added some branches across the top and when dry replaced the mask and rubbed over some Distress Inks and glue here and there and some Gilding Flakes although that doesn't really show up in my photo I'm afraid. Finally I stamped three words from the Amazing Mackintosh Words stamp set, cut them out and added to the finished piece.

Here I stamped the image from Mackintosh Beauty stamp set three times and coloured in with Distress Ink, matted and layered with coordinating card and stamped a sentiment from Mackintosh Sentiments set.

The background of my next card is Distress Inks with a spritz of mica spray which helps the colours blend into each other. The lovely Spring Awakening image is stamped with Versafine black and heat embossed with detail clear and pencils used to colour the flowers in her hair. Using the new masks which compliment the Seasonal Ladies I inked some leaves, the sun and word.

My final share used an image from Mackintosh Beauty, stamped with Versafine black and heat embossed with detail clear onto a piece of card created with the shaving foam technique.........I tend to have a session with different colours so I have a stock of them ready to stamp onto. I coloured the image with pencils, matted her into the base card, tied some ribbon and stamped and cut out a rose from the same set to place in the centre.

As always my thanks for you visit today.

From Russia with Love by Zoe

Good morning Lovelies, I'm back again with my final post for Chocolate Baroque DT, featuring the stunning Russian themed stamps that were featured on Hochanda.

My tag I used Distress Inkpads spritzed with water and heat dried for that fab marbled background, I stamped one of the Silhouette Palaces in Grey Versafine ink and again using Black and heat embossing, the Babushka dolls I coloured in, cut out and covered with Glossy accents, once dried I adhered them using hot glue to get dimension.

My first card I used a circle stencil/mask and torn paper to create a moon and hills, I used dye-based inkpads applied with brushes to get a more airbrushed effect, I used a filigree stencil which I spritzed with water and dabbed dry in places to create some interest, I finally stamped the Silhouette Palace using Versamark Inkpad and heat embossed in gold.

My final card I started with the Katya which was stamped with Versamark Inkpad and heat embossed with black embossing powder. I then used Drawing Gum to colour her in, then once dry I used Distress Inkpads with water again and stamped the Silhouette Palaces with grey ink. I then rubbed off the drawing gum with my finger, coloured her in using watercolour paints.

I hope you like my creations, I had such fun making them. Thank you so much for visiting and leaving a comment.

Fabulous Faberge Egg by Zoe

Good Morning Lovelies and I'm back for my second post this month featuring the wonderful Russian Themed Stamps. They are gorgeous and will appeal to everyone at any level of crafting skill.

I hope you like my samples?

My first card is using a Linen textured card which I masked off with low tack tape, I used Pan Pastels and sealed using cheap hairspray, leaving the tape in place I stamped the Russian Exquisite Egg in the middle first then either side using Versafine Onyx Black Inkpad, removed the tape, stamped my sentiment, added some sequins.

My second card was stamped with Versamark Inkpad and heat embossed in white, I then inked over using dye-based inkpads, I then stamped around the edges using the same colour inkpads as the background to create a bit more texture, finished with a diecut sentiment.

My third project is a very simple wall hanging, I just used Chipped Sapphire Distress ink and moved the ink around using a water brush, I blended around the egg using the same Inkpad and a sponge, added some of the crackle from the crackle stamp without using a block in the same ink. I then matted and layered and stripped back some cardboard box I'd had lying around and painted with a white crackle paint and once dry I sprayed with a glossy varnish to seal it.

Thank you so much for taking time to visit, have a great day xx Zoe xx

From Russia with love by Zoe

Good morning Lovelies, can you believe it's April already? Roll on Spring weather and all the pretty flowers I say.

So I'm here to share my sample that features the wonderful new Russian themed stamps that Lesley brought to Hochanda, they are exclusive to Hochanda at the moment but will soon be available to buy on the website too. I hope you like them?

I've used the Silhouette Palaces.

My first card I created my reflection using a piece of acrylic and a Memento Inkpad, circle stencil and again a brush to apply my inks, the water I slightly wet the brush to create that more fluid effect.

My second and I have to say "my favourite" was the simplest of all, watercolour card stamped with Versamark Inkpad, heat embossed in black, then I spritzed the card with water, carefully sprinkled on Brushos, I didn't want them to merge too much and used a paint brush and dry cloth to manipulate the flow.

Thank you so much for taking the time to visit and leave a comment, I love to read what you think, buy for now will be back later in the month with more. In the meantime enjoy my fellow teamies wonderful creations.

Have a wonderful day xx Zoe xx

Sending a bouquet (by Corine)

Well here we are in 2017 and we are welcoming back Corine in her guest position for January, I knw she has some wonderful projects lined up for you so here we go with her very first of this New Year.

Hello!

Here I am again. In January I will post three times a card as guest designer. I am very pleased to do this. My first project is a card with one of the Ornament stamps on a Gelli Plate Background.

I used stamps from the sheets:
Mackintosh Sentiments

  • Create a background with acrylic paint on a Gelli Plate.
  • Stamp the ornament from the Texture Fragment sheet with Brilliance ink. I used Lightning Black. Use a template with leaves and sponge Memento Luxe Olive Grove.
  • Sponge Distress ink Seedless Preserves around your background paper and stamp the text with black ink.
  • Emboss the Palm Fan Baroque Ornament with gold embossing powder and colour it with Zig markers.

I hope you enjoy my first creation and I will see you soon

Corine

Thank you so much for this beautiful card Corine, I love the idea of creating all that interest in the background. We look forward to seeing what you have in store for us next week.

In the meantime please keep popping in so that you can catch up with all the beautiful designs that our fabulous team made for our debut shows on Hochanda.
