Yuletide Angel (posted by Judith)

Hi folks, here is a sample created using the new Gothic Angel stamp sheet.I have made a leafy background with various colours of ink. I stamped the angel on another piece of card, and then created a holly frame around her. I coloured the images with pencils, and then cut around the edge of the holly, leaving a small border for definition. I added some purple ribbon to tie in with the central image, and stamped the sentiment to finish.

These images make a great card for those people who like to celebrate a traditional Chritmas, but are also suitable for people who like a more modern or alternative Christmas as well. look out for more inspiration from my team mates coming soon. Thanks for stopping by, Judith xx

  1. Very, very pretty! How did you do the leafy green background?

    1. Using leaves from my garden Clare, I added ink with a brush around the edges. I moved the leaf a little bit each time, twisting it slightly, working down or along the page, until the space was covered. Elaine has a great post here: http://craftshedgirl.blogspot.co.uk/2010/07/one-of-my-elusive-images-design-team.html showing you how to create the background, Judith xx

  2. I loved this when I first saw it on Glenda's email. It's the colours & the glorious way you have woven the ribbon into the wreath. The leafy background is a beautiful echo of the holly leaves in reverse. I particularly like the definition you achieved by leaving that small border when cutting out the wreath & also the outlining/shadowing effect of the wreath's internal edges. The bow is a lovely echo of the necklace & I love your placing of that sentiment.
