Hello everyone, today it's my turn to show you a card I made.

I stamped the background with an Orange ink and the feather I embossed with white embossing powder. I coloured the Feather with Distress Ink.

I used a red gel pen for the stiches and made some dots on the card and feather.

The sentiment I stamped with Versafine Onyx Black.

Floral Feathers (by Julie)

Hello, today I have two cards that I have based around the brand new Lords and Ladies stamp set

For my first card I inked up the spray of flowers with an olive green dye ink and repeatedly stamped along the bottom of my base card. I then coloured the background with Mustard Seed and Dried Marigold Distress inks. I darkened the edges with Hickory Smoke Distress ink.

I stamped the Lords and Ladies flower onto separate card-stock and made a mask by stamping onto copy paper and cutting out. I then covered my card-stock, stamped image with the mask and stamped the tall fern from the spray of flowers around the main image. Repeat this process until you are happy with the design and then remove the mask and colour with pencils. The background has been coloured with Squeezed Lemonade and Weathered Wood Distress inks and dots of white paint pen have been added for extra interest.

Cut the design to size, mount onto green card-stock before adhering to the base card with double sided tape. 

For my second card I inked up the Square Bubble background stamp with Onyx Black Versafine ink and dabbed the stamp across the base card and then coloured with Distress inks.

Next I inked up the feather stamp from I Shall Be Your Wings and repeatedly stamped it 5 times to form a circular frame. You will also need to stamp an extra feather onto copy paper and cut out so that the bottom feather in the design can be masked. Once you have your feather masked, ink up the Lords and Ladies stamp with Versafine ink and stamp within the frame you have just created with the feathers. Remove the mask and colour with pencils.

Take your scissors and cut around your feathers, leaving a small white border and then attach to the front of your card using foam pads. To finish off I added I Shall Be Your Wings Sentiment which I had coloured with the background Distress inks.

Good morning
Let's start this day with a wish after all the rain we have had lately.  I hope my rainbow card will bring some warm sunshine to everybody.

Step by step

1. Blend dark sky colours on a white cardstock using Stylus Tool and Distress Ink Pad
2. Apply rainbow colours of Distress Ink Pad on the feather from the sheet  "I shall be your wings"
3. Stamp as topper the sentiment of the same sheet and glue it on the card

As you can see, my second card is a decoupage one

Step by step

1. Stamp on a white cardstock two feathers from "I shall be your wings"  with 

    Distress Ink Pad Vintage Photo and one feather with Distress Ink Pad Black Soot in second

    generation

2. Blend the feathers using a Watercolour Brush - Detailer Tip, let dry and cut the image out.

3. Colour a white cardstock with Distress Ink Pad Mowed Lawn 

4. Stamp the background stamp "On the Tiles Individual" with Distress Ink Pad Fired Brick

    and cut the sape out.

5. Stamp ""I shall be your wings" sentiment on a piece of white cardstock coloured with           

    Distress Ink Pad Vintage Photo

6. Assemble the mat as shown in my sample and glue with Zig 2way Glue Pen - Broad Tip

I thought to use a Kraft Tag as third project for today.

1. Stamp the rose from the"Rose Duo" rubber set with Versafine Onyx Black 

2. Colour the rose with white Charcoal Pencil 

3. Blend if necessary with Lyra Splender Blending Pencil 

4. Colour a white cardstock with a mix of yellow  Distress Ink Pad shades to have a contrast

4. Stamp the sentiment from the plate Words of Inspiration with Versafine Onyx Black                    

    in second generation

All about feathers (by Anne)

Good morning. Today I am sharing a few cards created with the ‘I Shall Be Your Wings’ stamp set .

My first is a colourful bunch of feathers in a shabby chic style.

I first stamped the feathers onto copy paper and cut them out to create masks. A few dots of Zig 2-way glue were applied to the back to hold the masks in place. This glue gives a temporary tac if left to fully dry before sticking down. Alternatively this could be done using the special Masking Tissue which comes with a tacky back. These masks can then be kept and re-used multiple times.

The feathers were stamped with multi-coloured dye based ink, layering images with masks and working from foreground to background. The sentiment was stamped with Versafine (Vintage Sepia). A drop shadow was added around the feathers using pale watercolour pen ink applied with a brush (to add more 3D depth).

Kraft card and the stamped panel were trimmed to fit an A5 card blank. The craft card was distressed using the edge of scissors, the stamped panel edged with alcohol marker to frame. A little Stickles (Crystal) was added for sparkle.

My second is a 6X6 inch card embellished with 3D shaped cut out feathers.

Faux stitching was added around the edge of the card, and small dots drawn, using a fine tipped opaque white pen.

The feathers were stamped onto a slightly paler version of Kraft card using Versamark and sparkly aqua embossing powder. These were then cut out and lightly shaped with a ball tool before gluing to the card front with 3D glue gel. Finished with a ribbon bow.

My third is another 6 X 6 inch card using a lovely background paper from Crafty Individuals (Shades of Summer). This particular pad is usually available on the Chocolate Baroque website (but depends on stock).

The paper was glued to a card blank and faux stitching added around the edge using a fine tipped pen. The sentiment was stamped with Versafine (Vintage Sepia). A little watercolour pen was painted over the image to help at more ‘weight’ to the base.

The feathers were stamped onto Kraft card using Versamark and sparkly aqua embossing powder, cut out and lightly shaped before sticking over a die cut birdy using 3D glue gel. Eye and leg details were added with fine tipped pen. A little clear sparkle pen was brushed over the bird for extra shimmer.

Hello everyone, today it's my turn again to show you a card.

For this card I used three different colours of embossing powder to make the background, and with two of them I made the feathers also. The feathers and the sentiment I have stamped on black paper. The background I stamped on white paper.

I used these stamps for making this card.

Embossed and Shrink Plastic Wings (by Julie)

Hello, I hope you managed to catch Lesley and Judith demonstrating these fantastic new stamps on Hochanda recently. Here are two of my cards created especially for the show and both are made with I Shall Be Your Wings

The feathers in the background were stamped and then embossed with purple embossing powder before setting with a heat gun. I then inked up the Square Bubbles background stamp with clear embossing ink and dabbed it around the background. Next I took some green and purple Pan Pastels and applied them over the top. The wet embossing ink catches the Pan Pastel and shows the design of the stamp.

On a separate piece of  card I stamped the two large decorative feathers, coloured them with pencils and dabs of Crystal Stickles and then cut them out.

I mounted the background onto black card-stock and also cut a strip of black card to mount the decorative feathers onto. I finished the card off with the stamped sentiment that I had coloured with the background Pan Pastels. 

 

My second project is a pair of earrings that I have created from shrink plastic and then attached to the front of a card.

To start with I inked up one of the large decorative feathers with white Brilliance ink and stamped onto black shrink plastic. I then repeated this step before cutting them both out. I punched a hole at the base of each feather, using a Crop 'o dile, before shrinking so that I could attach a jump ring and an earring hook to each feather.

The card was stamped with two of the feathers from I Shall Be Your Wings using Onyx Black Versafine, before colouring with Mustard Seed and Peacock Feather Distress inks. I stamped the sentiment in Versafine ink as before and then punched two holes for the earrings to be hooked through.

Dabs of Crystal Stickles were added to the feathers as a finishing touch.

I am so pleased to share with you the new stamps from Chocolate Baroque that are as usual, very detailed.
Here below you will find two step by steps, a journaling page and a card.


Journaling Page:
1. Cover your journaling page with white gesso
2. Blend Distress Ink Pad  Seedless Preserves and Worn Lipstick with a Stylus blending tool
3. Stamp randomly with water the background stamp  "On the Tiles Individual" and some
    feathers from "I shall be your Wings"  and let dry
4. Stamp some other feathers with Distress Ink Pad Antique Linen
5. Stamp with Versafine Onyx Black    the "Rose Duo" image
6. Add some colour to the rose
7. Stamp the sentiment from the rubber plate "I shall be your Wings" with Versafine Onyx Black 

Card:

1. Colour the white cardstock mat with Brusho watercolour red, yellow and orange, and let dry

2. Stamp the feather from "I shall be your Wings" on the right side of the mat with Versafine Majestic 

    Blue

3. Stencil white embossing paste on the left side of the mat and let dry

4. Apply a light coat of Stickles on the feather and on the embossing paste

5. Stamp the sentiment from the same plate "I shall be your Wings"  

6. Use some twine as decoration

7. Colour the second mat using a matching colour of the stamp

8. Glue both mats on your card

Simple Feather Jewellery (by Anne)

Good morning. Today I am sharing a couple of jewellery pieces created with the ‘I Shall Be Your Wings’ stamp set.

My first project is a pair of sparkly feather earrings and presentation card.
Materials

• I Shall Be Your Wings stamp set
• Decorative card blank approx. 16 X 11cm (white inkable card)
• Inkpads: Archival (Jet Black) and dye based multi-coloured (blues, greens & purples)
• Stickles (Crystal) and cerise pink glitter glue (suitable for multi surfaces)
• Alcohol ink pen (pale pink)
• Organza ribbon and ready-made ribbon rose (pink)
• Set of silver plated earring hooks and fine cord end crimps
• Angelina Fibre mix (greens and blues) and Angelina Film
• Faux gems (green) and Gemtac glue
• Domestic or craft iron (warm setting) and baking parchment
• Jewellery making pliers (flat or snipe nosed)

Making the presentation card

1. The card blank was coloured by blending multi-coloured ink in from the edges with a sponge. The surface was then lightly spritzed with water and blotted with tissue to create texture.
2. The feathers were then stamped with rainbow ink and the sentiment with Archival. A little clear glitter glue was added for sparkle. The sentiment was coloured with alcohol ink pen.
3. Two small holes were punched to hold earrings. Finished with ribbon and fabric rose.

Making the Earrings

1. The feather stamp was inked with Archival ink. A sandwich of Angelina Film and Fibres (2 sheets of film with fibre between) was laid onto the inked stamp. This was covered with a sheet of baking parchment and a warm iron was pressed down onto the sandwich to fuse. When cool the fused sparkly sheet was peeled away from the stamp surface and the feathers cut out.
2. Small crimps were used to attach the feathers to earring hooks.
3. Faux gems were glued in place with Gemtac glue (formulated for sticking gems or beads to fabrics) and extra sparkle added with cerise glitter glue.

My second project is a pretty feather pendant on a long chain.
Materials

• I Shall Be Your Wings stamp set
• Semi translucent shrink plastic
• Archival Inkpad (Jet Black)
• Alcohol markers (green and pink)
• Pebeo Gilding Wax (Silver)
• Heat gun and non-stick mat
• Recycled necklace chain and Celtic pendant dropper (from my stash)
• Silver plated jump rings
• Jewellery making pliers (flat or snipe nosed)

Making the feather pendant

1. The feathers were stamped onto shrink plastic with Archival Ink and cut out. A small hole was punched into the tops for hanging. The backs were coloured with alcohol ink pens.
2. The feathers were then shrunk using a heat gun.
3. The colouring on the feather backs looked a bit messy. Being a longer pendant the back is likely to show so I coated the backs with silver gilding wax to finish.
4. The feathers were then added to the decorative pendant dropper using jump rings and the pendant hung on a long chain.

I really enjoyed making these simple jewellery pieces. Happy stamping, Anne x.

 I loved playing with this new stamp set, so much so that i have a lot to show you today, so a coffee first may be an idea!
My first two were experiments which worked ok, thankfully. I remembered seeing a post where someone had stamped using brusho, so i had to try it out. Sprinkling powder onto a stamp and then spritzing with water was not a good idea - it took about 8 impressions to get a passable image!
A different stamp, using the paler grey powder with a waterbrush to apply to the autumn medley stamp and stamping onto damp card was much better! I wanted a dreamy effect, so added nore powder round the edges and spritzed fairly heavily with water then used a damp feather stamp to stamp into the brusho round the face. - it took a long time to dry, but I liked the efffect, though the feathers didn't show up as well as i had hoped. The large zentangled feathers and the sentiment from words of inspiration were stamped in versamark and white embossed.


 This one was my first attempt at an eclipse card. I used a distress ink background on and A5 piece of white card, and stamped the birds fron the curly birds set using black versafine ink. I masked the bodies and wings using Pebeo drawing gum before stamping the feathers in grey versafine ink. I have a magnetic platform for my big shot, which was a definite help diecutting the letters - you don't really realise how big the letters are until you try to fit a word in! I made an A5 card from black card and trimmed the stamped panel down to fit, gluing the centres of the letters in place before adding the actual letters on foam pads. This was very fiddly, and I think you would get a better result diecutting the letters several times and gluing them in place.

This one used another distress ink background, with the curly birds again stamped in black versafine and masked with the drawing gum before stamping the feathers with grey versafine.
The sentiment in black is from the feathers set.








The fourth one is fairly similar, except that I stamped feathers drifting downwards on the card  using versamark and white embossing powder before dusting with turquoise and grey brusho powders and spritzing heavily with water.
The feathers were masked with the drawing gum before stamping the curly birds in blue distress ink.  sentiment in black versafine ink
.I used the same blue ink on the white base card and sponged the edges as well before adding the panel.



My last card was cut down from an A4 sheet of card, so i have quite a bit left in case I need to make some quick cards.......




The feathers were stamped using versamark ink and white embossed before sprinkling turquoise and purple brusho over the sheet and spritzing with water. A corner of the card was trimmed to
5.5" square and mounted onto a slightly larger piece of black card before adding to a 6" sqaure white card.

Dare to Dream (by Judith)

Hello everyone, I have two projects to share with you today, showcasing the beautiful I Shall Be Your Wings stamp set that we featured on last month's TV shows on Hochanda.

For my first project, I decided to make a dreamcatcher. I chose a large flower from the Diamante Delights stamp set, as it reminded me of the centre of a dreamcatcher, and stamped that onto a piece of drawing cartridge. I drew two circles around the outside, using a circular die, and drew some lines inside using a fineliner pen to complete the design. I added three feathers underneath the circle, and again, hand drew some beads on 'strings', to add to the design, using the fineliner pen.

I wanted to create a very soft, dreamy background, and used a combination of soft colours on the background, blending Distress Ink, and splattering it with water. I painted the images with watercolour pencils and a water brush. Finally, I stamped the sentiment onto a spare piece of drawing cartridge, and cut it into sections, before adding it to the background.

My second project was a TV demo, which you may have seen. When I saw these stamps, I knew instantly that I wanted to make both of these projects, and they turned out just as I imagined them. I drew a large circle onto a piece of drawing cartridge, then stamped two of the feathers before adding a mask. I stamped the other two feathers, and masked them as well. I added foliage using one of the images from the Lords and Ladies stamp set, and I used first, second and third generation stamping to build up depth.

I painted some twigs using a medium and small brush with Distress Ink and water. I wanted the twigs to look rather rustic, so I added some little wispy bits with the finer brush. I added the rose from the Rose Duo stamp set, which I had coloured with pencils and fussy cut. A sentiment in the centre finished the project before I matted the background onto dark green card.

Peacock feathers by Brenda

Good morning, Brenda here and a post scheduled as I am away in the Mediterranean sunshine, well as I write this on a rainy day in the UK I am certainly hoping it will be sunny. My shares from my samples from the recent Hochanda shows where Lesley showcases some beautiful new stamps.

The top creation is Peacock inspired, the base is a greyboard tag coated in white gesso followed by acrylic paint. Using a stencil I added some brickwork using gesso mixed with sparkle paint as my medium and left the top fairly rough to give texture. Next I randomly stamped Square Bubbles and the Fern from Rose Duo using Majestic Blue Versafine. The feathers from "I shall be your Wings" have been stamped with Versamark and heat embossed with detail gold powder and coloured in with Twinkling H20's.......I have not used them for years and decided they had been left unloved for far too long. The sentiment is from the same feather set and finally I added a seam binding bow and inked around the edges of the tag.

A fairly simple DL card and matching envelope. The beautiful Rose from Rose Duo was stamped onto both with Versafine black and coloured in with pencils and the panel matted onto coordinating cardstock.

Here we have a background created with acrylic pain and brayered onto a piece of heavy cardstock, I do this quite randomly not worrying about any lines created by the edges of the brayer as that all adds to the interest. The four feathers from "I shall be your Wings" were stamped with Versamark and three colours of embossing powder shaken across them, if you hold the piece end on the powder will dust across the leaves to give a graduated effect. Finally a piece or organza ribbon.
