Sparkly peacock easel card (posted by Claire)

Good morning, Claire here with an easel card using one of the beautiful stamps from Peacock Parade. While I just love the gorgeous vibrant colours we all associate with peacocks I decided to use more of a muted colour palette to create a masculine project.

I used a shaped card blank and covered it with papers from the Peacock Summer Party Cd, adding faux stitching around the edges with a black fineline pen. I also covered another card front with the same paper for the front of the easel. I stamped the peacock 3 times with versamark on some pewter card  and embossed with sparkly black embossing powder. You can see the sparkle a little better in this photo:

I've decoupaged the image and added some gems in the corners and created a large black bow to prop the easel up. Hope you're enjoying all the ideas with these beautiful new stamps

Peacock out of the box! (posted by Elaine)

The beautiful long tails on the birds on the Peacock Parade plate, made me think of using the out of the box die cutting technique which resulted in this card.

I started by stamping a pattern from Texture Fragments onto white card in Versamark and adding colour with pan pastels in suitably peacocky shades. I embossed the peacock onto the stamped background and added colour with Prismacolour pencils. I then carefully cut out just the tail. I die cut a square frame from purple card, highlighted with a little gold wax and carefully mounted the peacock panel behind the frame, tucking the tail through the aperture in the frame.

I finished the card by stamping the sentiment from Key to My Dreams, die cutting the ova and shading with some more pan pastel in purple before taking the die off the sentiment panel. I mounted the two stamped elements on to a designer paper from the Peacock Part CD and matted on to two toning colours of lilac and purple.

Peacock Texture Card (posted by Judith)

When I received the 'Background Texture' stamps from Glenda, I was quite excited, because I could see lots of possibilities with these stamps. It is a really useful stamp plate, giving lots of options for texture and layers in backgrounds, and a chance to experiment with things like clay and UTEE, that we perhaps don't use very much.

For my first project, I started off fairly safely using one of the background stamps to recreate the look of the salt backgrounds that I like to make so much. I coloured a piece of watercolour paper with Ecoline ink, and then embossed the stamp using a copper embossing powder.

I then took three domino sized pieces of Stampbord, which I taped together with masking tape, and coloured with inks, before stamping with another one of the texture stamps. This one reminded me of the markings on a peacock's feather, and so I used a toning backing paper from the Artylicious Peacock Summer Party CD to finish off my card.

As I put my card together, I added a sentiment from the Artistic Affirmations set, and used some copper card and teal ribbon to bring the whole thing together. I edged the Stampbord pieces with a Krylon pen, and split them up slightly.

Keep checking back to see what else my team mates have made using this fabulous stamp plate over the next few days. Thanks for stopping by, Judith xx
