Beautiful Collage Stamps (by Sandra)

Hello, I am sharing some more of my cards from the March shows on Create and Craft.

All of my cards are made using Out of the Trees Slim Strip Stamp Set

I stamped the A4 stamp strip, which has some fabulous collage, detail onto some drawing cartridge.  I used my heat gun to dry the ink - Black Archival, and then sprinkled Black Brushos over the top. I then spritzed very lightly with water. I left it to dry naturally overnight and then blended Black Soot Distress Ink around the edges. I then mat and layered onto some white cardstock and then onto a black card base.

For my next card I made a Z card base. I cut some smaller pieces for the background layers and used Distress Inks to colour these. I stamped the Out of the Trees stamp onto some white card and coloured with watercolour markers. I added some extra dots from  Numerology  stamp set and the word Nature from Sow the Seeds set.

For my last card today I stamped the Out of the Trees stamp onto white card with black Archival ink and then die cut 3 pieces.  I then used an Accordion Die and cut 3 panels. I glued the stamped images to each panel and then glued the base together..... a bit fiddly, but it does look good on the mantlepiece!

Stamped Images onto Candles (by Sandra)

 Hello everyone.

Today, instead of showing a card I'm sharing how to add a stamped image onto a candle.

First, choose your stamps. I have used the two larger poppy seed heads from Sow the Seeds stamp set.

Stamp the image onto some white tissue paper with VersaMark ink and emboss in gold. I am using a white candle, if you are using a different colour candle use tissue paper of that colour. Just bear in mind that it is easier to colour on white!

Once it was embossed I cut around the edge. This doesn't have to be too accurate.

I also embossed the word "Nature" from the same set.

I coloured the stamped tissue with Distress Ink that I put onto my glass mat and spritzed with water. If the colour bleeds a little as it did in mine, just cut up to the embossed line. 

Place the stamped and coloured pieces onto the candle, (you can do the pieces individually) and then wrap some parchment paper or wax paper around and keep it pulled tight around the candle. Use a heat gun or hair dryer to melt the wax and absorb the tissue paper. As soon as you see the tissue disappear move onto the next bit. If you stay in one area too long the wax will start to ripple.

And here is the finished candle. Hope you will give it a go! 

Safety First - these are decorative Items and should not be lit once you have applied the tissue to them.

Believe in your Dream by Brenda

Morning everyone, my final post for this month with more shares from the April Craft Store shows. 

For the above card I stamped the leaves from Sow the Seeds onto cardstock which I inked with Oxide Sprays Rustic Wilderness and Twisted Citron, but the out and arranged onto a base piece inked with Oxide Tea Dye onto which I added a few circles using Make your Mark and sentiment from my Life is so much Better inspirational quote set.

A bit of a colour riot here, Dylusions sprayed across the top of a piece of cardstock, spritzed well with water and 'encouraged' to drip down the page. I then simple stamped the large Pinecones from Mother Earth using Versafine onyx black and three words from the same set and Sow the Seeds .

Time for Nature (by Judith)

Hello everyone, I hope that you are keeping well. I am sharing my last few projects this month featuring stamps from last month's TV shows on The Craft Store. 

My first card features stamps from the beautiful stamp set Sow the Seeds. These large stamps are perfect for journaling or creating eye catching, distinctive cards for someone special. I love the seed heads, and wanted them to shine in my project. I created a background using my inky plate and soft colours. I stamped the images, and added some pencil where the shading was present. I added extra foliage from Silhouette Grasses, such a useful stamp set.

My next card features the fabulous pine cone from Mother Earth as a focal point. I stamped this three times onto kraft card, using brown ink, and cut it out and scrunched it up to give it added texture. I created a background on a piece of tea dyed drawing cartridge, using stamps from Sow the Seeds and Make Your Mark.

The next two cards are older samples that I posted on my own blog a little while ago, but I will share them with you here. A simple piece of white embossing, and then the image was painted with Koh-I-Noor watercolours:

The leaf was stamped using different colours of ink, and then lightly coloured with pencils to accentuate the shading:

Finally I created a card using the Scripts and Timepieces stamp set, which was only available during the TV shows. I coloured my background with Distress Ink, and stamped the scripts using dark brown ink. I added splatters from the Timeless stamp set. The cental piece was created by stamping onto a piece of stampbord which I had coloured with Distress Ink, and I then added triple embossing for a shiny glaze.

Sowing the seeds by Rachel

 Hello there,

I have another couple of makes from the shows in April to share with you today. They are very similar in design - but one is a card and the other a ceramic plate - two totally different techniques for making them too! 

For the card I started by using oxide spray to create a background then layered over distress ink through one of the Chocolate Baroque stencils to create the squares and then stamped the leaves which I also coloured in ink. Next I used the Make your Mark set to add some background stamping and then added the seed heads that I had stamped onto separate card and coloured with watercolour pencils before fussy cutting.

For my plate I did all of my stamping in black ink onto a bisque ware plate then painted over all of the art using ceramic glazes. All of the ink burns off in the kiln so it is necessary to paint everything back in. I used the sow the seeds stamp set. Lastly I added some dots in glaze using the colours I had already used on the plate. The plate is then left to dry for at least 24 hours before being overglazed and fired.

I hope you like both my makes! I adore this stamp set - it is just so pretty!

Scripted

Hello, I'm sharing some more of my samples from the April show on the Craft Store.

These cards feature stamps from Scripts and Timepieces and Make Your Mark.

For my first card I used stamps from Make Your Mark and stamped randomly over a Kraft card base in brown ink. On a smaller piece of card I created a wash in blue and green dye inks. I then stamped the Spes Nostra  (which I believe means Our Hope) in black archival ink. I stamped the watch 3 times, aged them with some ink. I then added some gloss medium to the watch faces to resemble glass.  I mat and layered onto black card.

For my second card I blended dye inks to make a  background. Using the same colours I added stamps from Make Your Mark to give some depth. I then used the large script  from the set and embossed in Copper embossing powder. I added a banner across the card using the text stamp and added a pocket watch which I stamped, embossed and cut out.

 My last card uses a stamp from Make Your Mark, which could be a crack in the wall or a lightening strike and a dandelion style flower from Retro Florals. I used my stamping platform and rotated the cardstock around to get the pattern. I finished with the Seeds text from Sow the Seeds.

A trio of vases by Brenda

Good morning to you all, my first post sharing some creations from last months shows on Hochanda, two shows and two different sets of stamps and I have some from both in this post.

Above I used two of the vases, kiss stamping them with Versafine Claire Medieval Blue onto three panels, masking and adding flowers stamped with Versafine Clair Glamorous, a little stamping around the edge with worker stamps from Timeless and Ace Card and masked circles to highlight the flowers. The sentiment is from Sow the Seeds, finished with a button and twine bow.

On this one I used Timeless stamped in Versafine Clair Acorn, roughly tore the piece and inked all over with Versafine and Speckled Egg Embossing Glaze. I did the same with the two sentiments from the same stamp set and mounted onto a base piece which I scored and inked with the same colour Oxide.

Back to Nature

I'm sharing some of my cards that I made for the April show on the Craft Store.

My first two cards use stamps from Sow the Seeds set.

First, I stamped the leaves in Archival ink, masking the first leaf and stamping either side. I then added a watercolour wash around the leaves and coloured in with watercolour pencils. I added the word "Botanical" from the set and added a frame using a stamp from Modern Textures. 

For this card I blended Distress Inks to make the background. I stamped the Poppy heads in brown Archival using my stamping platform and stamped again using some tacky glue, but just in a few places. I then added gilding flakes to the glued areas, just to give a little sparkle. I used a stencil in the background and mat and layered onto some gold card.

These two cards use the stamps from Mother Earth set.

I used Distress Oxides for the background. I stamped the very large pinecone 4 times and cut out the different layers. I also die cut some foliage. I coloured the pinecone with Distress inks and some shimmer spray and then layered them using foam pads for dimension.

My last card features the equally large mushrooms! 

I used Distress inks for the background and the landscape. I stamped with Archival ink and coloured with Distress inks. I used a white gel pen to highlight the "spots" on the Shrooms and added some foliage from Wild Meadow.

Keeping it Simple

Hello, I am here to share some more of my samples from the February show on Hochanda.

These were all relatively quick to make with some stamping and embossing and a little bit of colouring.

My first piece uses an MDF board which I have covered with Chocolate Baroque Black and White Paper (Series 2) using a gel medium. I'm not sure if these are still available, but Series 3 are!  I have then added some watercolour inks, starting with purple, then blue and green. When it was completely dry I stamped the Carnation from Fresh Florals and a sentiment from Artistic Affirmations and embossed in white.

For my next card I used alcohol inks in shades of purples and blues at the top and greens at the bottom on some yupo paper. I then stamped a dragonfly and a few butterflies from Butterfly Blush using Alcohol Lift ink. I did the same with some of the foliage stamps that were also on the show and added a sentiment from Sow the Seeds.

My next card uses the Daisy stamp from Fresh Florals. I stamped with Archival and used watercolour pencils for the flowers and Distress Ink for the edges. I have added a sentiment from Fly Away with Me.

This card uses two of the foliage stamps from Eastern Grasses. I used my stamping platform and stamped the larger of the stamps first, rotating my card each time. I then used the smaller stamp to fill in the gaps. I coloured the open seed heads with a red glaze pen and added the sentiment to the centre. Very quick, but effective.

My last piece features an accordion style card from a die. I stamped the butterflies and dragonflies from Just Butterflies onto some white card and die cut the panels out and glued onto the card base.

 I love how the stamp sets mix so well with each other.
