Beautiful Birds (by Debbie)

When I received the Nouveau Lovebirds stamps, I was curious to see if I could go
with a wedding theme.
I stamped with Versamark and embossed with gold powder. I recently had a play with some Coloursoft Pencils and with a little left over birthday money I invested in  a small set.

For the birds and trees I quickly learned that it was best to keep the pencils sharp. Glenda is an expert when colouring with pencils and I certainly enjoyed taking time colouring the image.
I chose to mount the birds on colours from the pencil work.
The Ivy Corners from the Wedding Belle and the sentiment were stamped with green ink.
I have a friend getting married in the summer so this card is going in the box of cards ready for their big day.

Many thanks for visiting

A Pair of Peacocks by Debbie

Hello. My card uses the Tangled Peacock stamps and they are great fun to use and have such an elegance. The Peacocks have beautiful detail on them and the tails flow. Firstly, I coloured acetate with green and yellow alcohol inks and it gave a few shades of green. I stamped onto acetate with black Stazon and cut out. I then turned one of the peacocks and loved that they interlocked. I attached them with a few small pieces of red really sticky tape. The background paper is from Bo Bunny, the Serenity pad and the sentiment is from the Wedding Belles plate. The card could be a wedding or anniversary card Thanks for visiting Debbie

On the fringe!

Hello everyone, hope you are enjoying the artwork from my fellow DT members.

I've not actually posted on here since Chocolate Baroque started - lots of computer complications which I am not going to bother you with. Anyway with the launch of a new series of wonderful stamps I really wanted to create something which I could share with you all.

I have to say that swirls and twirls are always a favourite of mine, they are so useful aren't they? And I always love butterfly images - as I've said countless times, I think the butterfly is the most inoffensive image around and can be used for a myriad of occasions both happy and sad. So I just couldn't resist the large focal stamp from Butterfly Flourish Swirls.

The background was brayered onto glossy card using a Soothing Sunset Big 'n' Juicy inkpad, then I stamped the butterfly image using Lilac Posies Memento and the ivy corners, stamped with Tangelo Memento, are from the Wedding Belle stamp set. This was mounted onto a piece of cranberry card stock and then I added some highlights with Stickles and left it to dry.

I then wanted to add a little more interest to the card and decided on a toning background paper which was from the original guild paper pack. I added a strip of this paper to either side and then proceeded to cut into each strip to form a fringe. Took a little while (and a bit of patience!), but I was pleased with the result. Finally I mounted it onto an A5 card folded from the same cranberry cardstock. Voila!

Hope you like our take on these new stamps - remember to keep popping back to see what other delights the Design Team have to offer.
