Stamp of the Week

I've been fighting with technology this week. It seems to have been one of those weeks where lots of little things just don't work right and before you know it, vast amounts of time have disappeared with nothing but a slightly dented keyboard to show for it!

So I'm a little late letting you know about this week's Stamp of the Week, but again, we're being rather generous with four stamp sets to choose from and a super duper multibuy on all four.

It's time to think about hopping over the channel (or Atlantic perhaps) and paying a leetle vizeet to la Belle France.  Yes, this week it's our Paris series that is on special offer.

Here are the four stamp sets and don't forget to check out the multi-buy as well.

Here's a great card made by DT member Debbie - clever use of masking and brayering.

Have a great weekend!

Stamp(s) of the Week - Butterfly Collage Sets

Next weekend is Easter, so I've planned ahead and I'm doing two sets of stamps on offer for two weeks instead of the usual one week only deal.

Even better than that, we've set up a multi-buy for the two, so you can make an even bigger saving if you want to.

The stamps are Butterfly Daisy Collage and Butterfly Poppy Collage - both large A4 sets packed with lots of images.

The card above was made with watercolour pencils.  I changed my mind about the colouring of the butterfly so I decoupaged another one over the top.  The sentiment is stamped over a brayered background - I stamped the daisy harlequin in Versamark onto glossy card, then brayered colour over the top and the stamped image resists the ink and shows up white.

Here's a closer look at the two sets.  The large flower shapes on these sets are perfect for making paper roses and I love all the variations Sue (our wonderful stamp artist) has managed to get in the different butterflies.

So both sets are on offer until Friday 5th April 2013 after which they will go back up to full price.

Happy stamping!

Stamp of the Week - Key to My Dreams

This week's Stamp of the week is Key to My Dreams, a lovely A5 set that contains some beautiful ornate keys and keyholes and a couple of really lovely sentiments.  Here's a closer look.

This is a tag that I made a couple of years ago with it - the shape of the longer keyhole lends itself to repeat stamping so I used it in a very soft orange to create a background.  I went to town a bit with the crystals to create the jewel-encrusted key.

As always, this is on special offer for just one week - click here for details.

Have a great weekend!

PS - a couple of dates for your diary - April 1st is Chocolate Baroque's second birthday and we'll have some celebrations on the day - make sure you're signed up to our email list to find out more.

Secondly, Friday May 3rd, we are having a one day Warehouse Sale at our premises in Barnard Castle - again details will be coming up in our weekly emails.

Stamp of the Week - Baroque Eggs

This week's stamp of the week is the delicious Baroque Eggs.

When we launched this set last year, I made a video showing a gatefold Easter card - here's the card

and here's the video.

This is a lovely A4 set and it's definitely not just for Easter.  The texture in these stamps is amazing and they stamp into clay or UTEE with beautiful results.  I like to use them as a background for die cuts, stamped in a very pale pastel coloured ink.
Here they are stamped into UTEE and decorated with Perfect Pearls.

Remember our Stamp of the Week prices are just what they say - only available for one week - so this set will go back up to full price on Friday 15th March.  Click here to see what our special offer price is.

Have a great weekend everyone!

New Clear Stamps

I normally reserve Fridays on the Design Team blog to announce new stamps and our Stamp of the Week, but this week it just didn't happen... it's a long story which you can read over on my own blog, glendawaterworth.com.

Meanwhile, click on the image above to get the details of the gorgeous new clear Edges stamps we've just launched.  Here's a little taste of what you can do with them.

I am also late picking a winner for the new spring stamps, so I am going to do that this coming Friday.  And if you were wondering, our Stamp of the Week this week is With Sympathy - more versatile than it sounds, it can also be used for Easter, christenings and confirmations.  I also think the crosses are just elegant design elements in their own right.

I've interrupted the blogging to bring you this post so please scroll down to check out today's other post from Claire featuring the new Landscape Edges.

Rose Stem Script - Stamp of the Week

This week we are delving deep into the archives to bring you a stamp set that has been a firm favourite for several years - Rose Stem Script.

It's such a pretty stamp, it's been fun to dig it out and have a play with it again.  The card above is made with the rose stem, combined with one of our newest stamp sets - Rose and Thistle.  I used the little sprig to stamp around the edges of  a piece of A6 sized cardstock with Versamark then used PanPastels to colour over them.  The rose is also stamped with Versamark and again dusted with PanPastels.  The panel was layered onto olive green card and then onto Firefly Prima paper on an 8x8 inch card and finished with an olive ribbon.

I have to show you this card too - made by Lesley.

Now you might think that it's just a pretty card, but hop on over to Lesley's blog and you'll see that it marks a pretty major achievement for her.  She's right handed, but is currently recovering from a nasty break in her upper right arm. She created this card from scratch with just her left hand!  So if you're feeling a little creatively challenged or in a mojo slump, why not set yourself the challenge of seeing what you can create with the 'wrong' hand!  You might just surprise yourself!

Stamp of the Week - Damask Hearts

This week we are thinking ahead to Valentine's Day with our Stamp of the Week being Damask Hearts.

As well as the hearts, there's some little damask squares, some large words and some very useful flourishes.  These stamps coordinate beautifully with many of our other damask and brocade stamps and go particularly well with the Decadent Brocade CD.

The box below was made with papers from a CD, but which are now available as printable downloads for a limited period. From the Damask Delights series, this one is Paisley Fern Series 3.

The card below is a classic wedding colour combo - simple gold embossing on ivory card teamed with burgundy.

The first card you saw was my Valentine's card to Adrian the year that these stamps first came out.  Green is his favourite colour, so I will often try to include it in his cards.  I used a white gel pen to pick out details of the stamp.

As always, this set is on special offer for just one week, so click here to find out more.

Have a great weekend!

Stamp of the week - Curly Birds

This week's special offer stamp is Curly Birds, an unmounted rubber set with lots of possibilites.

The bird feeder has an oriental look to it which would go well with some of our oriental clear stamps and the calligraphic birds make an elegant focal point.  When these were first launched, I found myself using the bird's tails a lot as flourishes around the edge of a card - very multi-purpose!

The sentiment on the card above is from Fly Away With Me - another great bird themed set.

Curly Birds is on offer until Jan 25th 2013.

Stamp of the Week - Tree Silhouette

This week we have another great favourite as our Stamp of the Week - the large Tree Silhouette.  Many of our former Guild members may recognise this as we offered a small version as a free stamp for new members at one time.  This large version is approximately 10cm wide by 14cm tall (just under 6x4 inches) which makes it a great feature stamp for a card.  I also think it's a brilliant stamp for showing off background techniques - sprays, PanPastels, Distress Stains, brayered backgrounds - whatever you experiment with, this stamp looks great simply overstamped in black, maybe embossed.

It's also an interesting one for paper piecing - stamp onto patterned paper and there are distinct areas of the hills and pond that you can cut out and re-assemble to make an interesting scenes.

Paper piecing with Prima (Songbird and Firefly) and Kaisercraft (These Days) papers

This stamp is on offer until December 28th and will ship out after the holidays.

Have a wonderful Christmas everyone!

Stamp of the Week - Christmas Flourish

Christmas Flourish is this week's Stamp of the Week and it has been one of our most popular sets ever. The classic flourish and detailed holly leaf background make it a real winner.

Our new DT member, Shirley, has this set and here's a couple of cards she's made with it.

This set is on special offer for just one week and we are also automatically including a free Holly Flourish download when you buy this set this week.

Free download this week when you buy Christmas Flourish stamp set.
Keep an eye on the DT's own blogs as they may have some artwork featuring this set coming up during the week.
