Luscious Christmas card nr. 2 (by Miranda)

 

Hello there,

Miranda here with another Christmas card. A bit similar to the previous one but with different colors.

I have used:

Big Bold background Holly and the baubles from the Big bold background Christmas baubles. Also used some elements of the Gothic Angels sheet, all beautiful Christmas sheets.

I have made the background using Distress Oxydes and some resist embossing.

Miranda here with some Christmas inspirations during the hottest time of the year.......but hey just think cool......

Always love to make these cards and fortunately I have a studio where there is air conditioning.

I used these beautiful Christmas stamps: Big Bold Background Poinsettia  (for the background)and the Gothic angels sheet and the Big Bold Background Christmas Baubles where I cut out some of the baubles.

This is one of the cards for a coming workshop, Miracle Christmas with Chocolate Baroque.

I worked with Distress Oxydes for the background and colored the decoupaged element using my Tombow markers. lots of gold embossing powder really makes it rich....

Miranda here with another post for you. I have used the same flower stamp as I did last time but with a totally different sphere.

Last time I have used pastel watercolors and now I have worked on grey paper and kept the combination almost monochrome. 

I colored using Derwent Chromaflow and some Stabilo pastel pencils.

I have used the Floral Grunge individual unmounted rubber stamp - A6. And stamped with Archival Pebble beach and for the large Crackle stamp on the background I have used Archival Shadow grey.

The words are from the Loving Sentiments Rubber stamp sheet - A5.

Pretty Pastels 2 (by Miranda)

 

Hello crafty people,

Miranda here with another pastel creation for you. Again not my usual colorscheme but I am pleased with the results.

I have worked on a slimline size card and used the beautiful 'Floral grunge individual stamp'. For the background I have used the same stamp as before ' Make your mark stamp set'  and for the words I have used the 'Artistic Expressions stamp set'. Still one of my favorites.....

The coloring was done with Distress inks and some Tombow markers. For the final touch I have used some colored pencils and silver embossing.

I have extended some of the lines of the 'lightning' stamp using an embossing marker and embossed it with silver embossing powder.

Also some spattering using silver acrylic ink.

Pretty Pastels (by Miranda)

 

Hi crafty people,

Miranda here on a sunny Sunday with a new crafty inspiration. Normally I don't use pastel colors very often.....but this time I felt like I had to use them.....

I combined several stamps.....the flower from the 'movie strip collage' though I removed the movie strip......There are a lot of circles on the new stamps but since I don't have the newbies I have used the circles from the 'Make your mark' set. Also a great set. Then for the background I have used the lovely

'Distressed Alphabet Upper case A4 set' and the sentiment is from the ' Artistic Affirmations' set.

I have used several Distress Oxide colors; Shabby shutters- Salvaged Patina- Spun Sugar-Shaded Lilac- Squeezed Lemonade- Tumbled glass

And for some highlights I have used a white acrylic marker and some spattering with white acrylic ink.

Chrysanthemum Blueprint (by Miranda)

Miranda here with another monthly inspiration. I used the same technique as I did in my previous post. 

Colouring on tinted paper called Canson Mi-Teintes.

This time I have used another blueprint stamp, the Chrysanthemum blueprint stamp sheet. It has a bit of an Autumn feel but hey the weather does too........and I don't mind because I like the weather being more cool than hot.

I stamped the image using Archival Pebble beach and colored with Derwent Lightfast colored pencils.

The circle has been colored with Stabilo Carbothello pastel pencils fading out with a paper stump.

I used white acrylic ink to spatter for some interest.

Allium blueprint (by Miranda)

 

Hi there crafty people,

Miranda here with a new blog post using the beautiful 'Allium blueprint stamp set'. I really love these blueprint stamps and all of the geometrical patterns. The combination of the elegant flowers and the architectural elements are beautiful, I think.

This time I have worked on colored paper which is great for pastels and colored pencils. I have combined the design with a circular shape using a die cut circle stencil.  Just added some white and violet pastel pencil, spattered some white acrylic ink  and a subtle coloring of the flowers. No nee for very labour intensive coloring.

Organic structures (by Miranda)

 

Hi crafty people,

Miranda here.....with another blogpost for you. I was so inspired(as many of you) by the talented Jo Ward that I had to give this a try.......I re-watched the demo on the Craft store channel and I loved it!

I tried to change it a bit so I also added a bit of myself too.....I love organic structures and it made me think of 'mother Earth' with colors of earth, water, greens and a bit of gold too......

I used my Daniel Smith watercolors and this time I played with the Primatek colors, based on minerals....all a bit muted tones ....I did not have the handy rulers Jo used but I just cut the paper with wavy edges so I had a positive and a negative.

I used the same  square bubble stamp but instead of a drawn circle I took the circle stamp from the 'Celestial set'.

I created more open areas between each 'bubble stamped area' so I could create a kind of 'rivers' in between. I used a waterproof fineliner to draw some lines in the blue and purple areas after I painted a thin line of gold paint. 

I have used the sentiment of the 'words of inspiration' set.

Thanks to Jo for inspiring me with this fun technique and hope you like my take on it! I sure will try this technique in other ways.......

Snowflakes and mandala's (by Miranda)

 

Hello crafty people,

Today another  blogpost from me........I have been playing with Distress Inks, embossing,  big background stamps and the lovely 'Waterlily Mandala set'.  I have changed that into a 'special snowflake pendant  mandala LOL......why not.....it is a lovely versatile stamp which I have decoupaged and added some 'dangles'....using elements of the same stamp.

'Imagination is limitless'

I have made a background using Distress Oxydes and the 'Big bold background Dotty snowflake' which I have stamped in one corner and embossed in another corner with a resist technique.

For me this is an unusual color scheme but in the end I liked it......

I have embossed the two script stamps from the 'Gothic Angels set' ( like in my previous post) and also embossed the snowflake edge from the 'Winter edges set' 

I have embossed the waterlily stamp three times and colored it using Distress inks, applied some Wow sparkles using a glue pen and decoupaged it all. I also embossed and decoupaged the 'crown' stamp from the gothic angels set. You can see it on top of the mandala. 

And I have added some organza ribbon as a nice touch....

Hi peeps, Miranda here with a festive blogpost. 

I have browsed through my CB collection and came up with these sets.........Harlequin Christmas A4 set

and this one too 'Gothic Angels A4 set'. Two of my favorite Christmas themed stamp sets.

I have used Distress inks and some Oxydes. Lots of gold embossing powder for a rich shine. A bit of decoupaging and coloring. 

Hope to have inspired you a bit...however....I think you all will have finished your Christmas cards.......but maybe for the next year?
