With deepest sympathy (posted by Elaine)

As well as baubles, the Artist's Baubles set has some other lovely elements, a cross, corners and a lovely classical motif which are very useful.

I have used the cross to make a sympathy card. I wanted to add a little colour to what would otherwise have been a monochrome card.

I used the tail of the bird from Doodle Butterfly stamped in grey as the flourish behind the cross. I used my stamp positioner to make sure I paced the stamp in the right placed and used masking tape to cut off the rest of the bird when I inked the stamp.

I stamped the cross in black Versafine and cut it out, before mounting on foam pads. I used the small butterfly stamp from the same set to stamp around the main design. I added a sentiment from the
With Sympathy stamp set, some two tone paper roses and punches leaves and tiny butterflies to complete.

  2. Classy & tasteful elegance with the most exquisitely delicate touch of colour, the deep green adds such a subtle yet lifting effect to the roses whilst not detracting from the whole ambience of the card. The grey bird tails are quite super as the flourishes & I can imagine this as a Christening or Ordination card using a different sentiment.
Your work with this little cross is outstandingly elegant & timeless.

  3. What a very elegant card, the addition of the roses just adds enough colour

  4. A beautiful and heartfelt card, Elaine. It looks like it was easy to do, too. The little flowers really bring it all together, and your butterflies balance everything out. Nicely done! Clare xo :)
