Peacock Thankyou card (posted by Elaine)

I wanted to make a simple and elegant thank you card using silver detail embossing on white with this gorgeous peacock image. I embossed the full image once and the body and wing twice more, cutting them out and mounting on foam pads.

I added some aurora borealis gems with a rainbow hue to the tail, just to add a touch of subtle colour. This was then mounted onto a white pearl card dry embossed panel  using a peacock feather design folder.

The card was finished with a sentiment from the Pretty Poppies set, some silver German Scrap and matted and layered onto teal and silver.

Thank you for the comments you leave for us here on the DT blog, they are always appreciated and help us to know what inspires and encourages you in the work of the Design Team.

  1. The white pearl dry embossed peacock pattern is a perfect foil for your strikingly elegant bird. The layering of his body & wing adds such interest when combined with the subtle iridescence of your gems. The touch of aqua just hints at the peacock colouring & the brain does the rest (well mine does!) in creating the impression of shimmery colourful elegance that epitomises the ethereal peacock. Apologies for the long-winded lyrically - just got carried away again. I now have to leave my visits to this site last on my list for I'm bound to be sit here ogling for a while...............
Thanks again to everyone on the DT for constantly coming up with outstanding examples of how the CB images may be used; every member of the team has such an individual style & you all contribute to the whole so that we are shown a huge variety of techniques & designs.

  2. Apologies for the typos - I'm still trying to work out how to switch off the autocorrect........... 'lyrically' should be 'lyricality' & 'sit here ogling' should be 'sitting here ogling'.....
