Through the window (posted by Claire)

Good morning, Claire here with another card made using the lovely Gothic Fragments stamps.

The background was made using a Crafters Workshop mask and distress inks to create a brick effect, I thought this would echo the bricks around the window image. I coloured the window image with promarkers and carefully cut out the 'glass' using a craft knife and die cut the image using nesties. I stamped the image again on acetate and embossed with black embossing powder and then used adhesive film to attach gilding flakes to the reverse of the image before attaching it behind the window. The sentiment is from 'Words of Comfort and Cheer' stamped with versamaemark and embossed an with an antique gold embossing powder. To finish off I added a bow andtwo delicate borders, die cut from white card using Crealies dies.

thanks for visiting today

  1. The Distress Inks really work superbly with that brick template & I must admit this is my favourite combination of colours. Your dainty white borders are just beautiful echoing the lattice shapes in the leaded window. The gilded background of the window really gives a sense of the Gothicness inside an old French cathedral with the candles lit.

  3. This is gorgeous, Claire! I absolutely love the way you've done the brick in the background! You've tied the focal image in well with the Spellbinders die. Great work! Hugs, Clare xx
