A Sweet Robin for Christmas (by Shirley)

Hello everyone, I hope you are doing well.

I have a couple of designs today using stamps from the new Nature Fragments set and an another favourite, Christmas Song.   The fragment stamps are wonderful for creating backgrounds, I know I'll use them a lot!

The background was created with Peacock Feathers & Picked Raspberry Distress Inks using the Acrylic Block technique.   I over stamped with the Ice Fragment from Nature Fragments with the same Inks.     The Robin from Christmas Song was stamped with Cocoa Memento Ink and coloured with Inktense Pencils.   I added glitter, rhinestones and died sheer ribbon with Raspberry Ink to match.

And below is a second design also featuring the sweet little Robin:

I used Peacock Feathers Distress Ink and Acrylic block for the background.  I over stamped with the Ice Fragment with both Shaded Lilac and Peacock Feathers Distress Ink.   The poem (also from Christmas Song) and Robin were again stamped with Cocoa Memento Ink.   I coloured the Robin with Prisma Pencils.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!

  1. I really love this card, great design!! beautifull colours!!!

  2. I thought if bought all my Christmas stamps.. Until I saw this card... Why oh why does chocolate baroque have to be so scrummy..beautiful card.. Fabulous stamps... Can't wait for mine to come through the door.. Glenda your website is too tempting.. I can see why it's called chocolate! You and the design team rock.. Pauline x

  3. Great cards Shirley. I really like the colour combinations, those fragments have made a great background and the little robin is a perfect focal image. Elaine x

  4. Super effect with the acrylic block backgrounds overstamped with the nature fragments. It's delightful seeing how you added so much variation to the two cards by using colours for the ribbon & rhinestones. The use of Cocoa ink for stamping is very striking as it doesn't overpower the background as black would have done but superbly compliments the teal aspects of the design.

  5. Love the way overstamping different fragments works. Peacock feathers and raspberry... must remember such a lovely combination. My habit too, to use Midnight blue or dark brown rather than black for the same reason... Great minds huh?

  6. I love both of the cards as these colours are my favourites, and the ice fragment works brilliantly as a background. The finishing touches are just perfect too - I love the effect of inking with the die still in place and colouring ribbon to match. Just beautiful!

  7. I love this stamp. You have made two lovely cards

  10. I love this little birdie, Shirley! Beautiful card!

I had to resign from the design team, due to hand trouble. I hope I can talk to her soon about rejoining the team. I will miss you, but will continue to get the emails from CB! Please stay in touch! I've enjoyed working with you, and I've gotten so much inspiration from your designs! Hugs and love, Clare xo :)
