I hope you have all enjoyed your Christmas Day and are having a relaxing break. It is Boxing Day today and it is also the last Thursday of December which means this is our normal day to launch our new stamps for the following month.
So here's a little antidote the madness of all that rush and bustle that comes before Christmas - Tranquility and Serenity.
They are both unmounted rubber A5 sets (approximately 14 x 20 cm) which will coordinate beautifully with many of our clear oriental sets. There is also a multi-buy available and as always, they are at introductory prices as they are both our Stamps of the Month for January.
This one is called Serenity
And this one is Tranquility
The card below has a background created with Dylusions sprays and Crafter's Workshop templates.
I stamped the serene buddha on white card and coloured it with Inktense pencils then cut it out and put it on the background with just a simple flower. With the background so busy, there was no need for anything else - she is the serene oasis, calm amongst the colour and pattern going on around her.
I'm really enjoying colouring in these beautiful new stamps and as I'm doing so, I'm finding myself wanting some new word stamps to go along with them, so I may just be presenting Adrian with a new set of word stamps at some point soon.
I hope you are all getting a chance to relax and play during the holidays.
Take care,
PS: We will be picking a winner again in January from all the comments left in December. As we did last month, each DT member will nominate one commenter and I will select randomly from those names and the winner will get a Chocolate Baroque stamp voucher worth £20.00.

What wonderful new stamps, and what a gorgeous card. Those rich blues and oranges really complement each other perfectly, and then they way you have echoed them in a slightly paler form on the buddha is lovely. I like your choice of stencils too, one just like the sun with it's rays, and the other like a beautiful screen are so oriental looking.
ReplyDeleteFabulous new stamps Glenda xx love the colours on this piece of work... It's been a while since I've had my dylusions out... Once my Christmas company goes I shall be able to get back into my craft room... I always find you and the DT inspiring.. Got some pennies for Christmas so you'll be getting an order from my wish list soon, Px
ReplyDeleteThese are fabulous stamps Glenda. They remind me of when I visited Tiger Balm gardens in Singapore when I lived there as a child. These will be going on my wish list. Your card is stunning I do love the background.

ReplyDeleteHave a nice relaxing week , and a happy, healthy and creative 2014!!

It's the way you've echoed the shapes in the stamp with your shapes used in the background that catches my eye: the way the orange of the Blazonry (I think) stencil picks up the shape of the orange centres of the lotus-like base she is sitting on as well as the 'flame' on her headdress. In the case of the lotus base it's not only the orange centres but the outer aqua that is echoed. Then the Quatrefoil (again I think) stencil looks like some kind of oriental screen & echoes the tracery detail of the window Serenity sits within. A very interesting visual demonstration of colour theory thrown in for good measure too.
ReplyDeleteHope you have a good New Year.
