Grey Parrot with splattered background (by Debbie)

I'm sure we are all guilty of waiting by the door for the postman to deliver goodies through the letter box. When Glenda showed us the first drafts of the Steampunk birds I fell in love with them.
My bird today is from the idea of an African Grey parrot and I wanted to add colour. I set too by stamping the bird with memento black and coloured with grey alcohol pens. Then made a mask to cover him and placed it carefully over. I put a plastic glove on and sprayed a selection of inks into my hand and spattered the inks onto the card. When the inks had dried I lifted the mask and used Broken China Distress Ink around the edge. I mounted onto black and a magenta colour card that was closest to one of the spray ink colours. The sentiment is A clear stamp that can be bought as a single or as part of a multi buy Fairyland Words. Thanks for visiting. Debbie

  1. Love this birdstamp and this card is so different and stunning!

  2. Love the way you have used the parrot with this great spattered background.

  3. The African Grey Parrot is just a perfect idea for this image - especially with the sense of metal it gives with the grey colouring. Your Broken China edging really defines the edges beautifully against the black & the magenta certainly accents those ink spots. I love the way you had orange predominantly for it's such a perfect companion for the grey.

  4. Beautiful card using the fab stamp set, shame it's too late for my Xmas present list, the birds are so beautiful, tfs x

  5. That is gorgeous. The grey parrot looks wonderful against the splatters. Fantastic card.

  6. Stunning the bird shines right out from the multi coloured background which I think is fab and they go together perfect. X
