Hi Folks, here's a sample from me using the lovely Serenity stamp set. I created a background using Distress Inks, and added a segment of bamboo stalks by spreading some texture paste through a stencil. I used another stencil to create the feeling of stonework on the background, repeating my original colours. I stamped the bamboo stalks from the Moonlit Waterfall stamp set.
I coloured the buddha image with Distress Markers and then stuck the image in front of the bamboo stalks. I added a sentiment before matting the project onto green card.
There have been some great samples this month from my Team mates, keep checking back for more inspiration in the coming days. Thanks for stopping by, Judith xx

This is a beautiful card. I particularly love the stencilled background, the texture paste on the bamboo stalks, and the use of a bamboo stamp behind the main image. The soft colour of the background makes the brighter shades of lilac, pink and especially the gold really sing out. The pastel green card complements it perfectly.
ReplyDeleteI love your background in this & how you combined it with the image panel - the buddha really appears to be sitting within the aperture of a large building with bamboo stalks growing nearby. The textured bamboo canes balance the image beautifully. The subtle stone colours of the background are a lovely foil for the soft yet subdued vibrance of the elements within the tracery aperture. The depth created by your colouring around the buddha within the aperture really draws the eye in & the surrounding bamboo canes provide a frame which yet again adds depth for they have the semblance of protruding forwards.
