I have made some more samples with some of the small stamps from the Spring Birds multi-buy rubber stamp set, and I hope you like them.
To make these cards I first covered the top and bottom of the card with post-it's. I cut out a small circle from another post-it and placed it where I wanted the sun to be. I took some inks: Adirondack Eggplant, Memento Grape Jelly, Mustard Seed Distress Ink and Ripe Persimmon, and with some brushes and some of the inks I started to create the sky. When I had finished creating the sky I took away the circle post-it and with some Mustard Seed Distress Ink and Ripe Persimmon and the negative side of sun post-it I coloured it! Then I stamped my flowers and with some bleach I took away some of the colours from the flowers and when everything was dry, I coloured them in with some alcoholic markers.
Then I stamped my sentiment with some Versafine ink, and with a very fine black marker I placed some black lines above and below the sky. I hope you like my samples and have fun creating some of your own.
Greetings,
Maria

ReplyDeleteSuch great sponging and such great CAS-cards!
ReplyDeleteYour skies are gorgeous, definitely going to give this a go, lovely.
ReplyDeletebeautiful make Maria - love the colours xx
ReplyDeleteStrikingly CAS & beautifully effective with your use of the alcohol markers for the flowers. I especially like the way you illustrate both the use of 'negative' space (in the first the sky area to the left) & the image (in the second the crocus to the left) to balance the sentiment plus your addition of the black lines top & bottom of the inked horizontal panel adds a lovely finish.

Another beautiful exhibit
ReplyDeleteTwo beautiful simple and elegant cards Maria. I love that blended sky on each and the two different smaller flowers from the Spring Birds stamp sheets are so pretty. Do you use the bleach full strength or do you mix it with a drop of water? When I tried it it seemed to eat through the paper and left a bit of a hole but perhaps I overdid it ..lol. Your black line gives it a good clean edge too. x
ReplyDeleteI use the bleach without water, but I don't know if we use the same bleach, I take a very tiny paint brush and very little bleach, have some patience and it always works, if not try again, but be carreful with the bleach, poor you,you had to start all over again !!
