Guest Post - Harlequin Poppies by Brenda Weatherill

I can't believe that this is the last post for Brenda for the time being. This week she has made a beautiful card that really captures the essence of Autumn.

It's no secret how much I adore Poppies and Chocolate Baroque have several sets of them which are just Divine. The Poppies I have used on this card are from the Autumn Poppy stamp set which is a huge A4 size packed with leaves, Poppies and toadstools.

My starting point was to create the background with a harlequin mask sponging Distress Inkpads Mustard Seed, Spiced Marmalade and Barn Door, graduating and slightly mixing the colours to create a random look. I then stamped the Poppy image with Versamark Black and Detail Clear embossing powder.

Next I bleached out the colour from the Poppies and Butterflies and coloured in with Spectrum Pencils. The sentiment is from Words of Inspiration and stamped and embossed with the same ink and embossing powder as the main Poppy image.

To finish my card I matted and layered onto coordinating bazzil cardstock and mounted onto an 8 x 8 square card.

Thank you so much for taking a peek at my card today, you can find more of my work using Chocolate Baroque stamps on my blog Floral Fantasies.

I would like to say a big 'Thank You' to Brenda for sharing her wonderful creations over the last three weeks, we have thoroughly enjoyed them and I hope you have too.

  6. This is a lovely stamp and what is even better than just poppies, is poppies and butterflies! The colours are so soft but prettily autumnal and the sentiment fits it perfectly. A beautiful card Brenda. x
