Hello everyone, I have a card to share with you today using some stamps that have been in my stash for a little while. Sometimes it is great to look at your stamps with a fresh viewpoint, and try using them in different ways. I have always used the Snake's Head Fritillary stamped individually as a focal point on a card, but wanted to create a meadow effect with the flowers for this particular card. I have used a combination of black and grey Versafine Ink to create a depth to the flowers, helping some of them fade into the background, and used a grey pencil in some of the colouring to tone down the flowers that appear to be nearer the back of the picture.
I have added some stencilling to the background, using the same palette of colours, and used a couple of butterflies from the Harebell and Thistle butterfly stamp sets.
I added a greeting from the Birthday Words stamp set, and mounted the background onto a large black card blank.
Thanks for stopping by, Judith xx
This is gorgeous Judith! Love how you balanced the colours with the flowers in the bottom half and the 'sky'.

ReplyDeleteThis is gorgeous Judith and shows what can be done with just a couple of stamps and some background stencilling. The Fritillary and the butterflies are beautifully coloured and I love the way the flowers fade into the distance. x
