brusho tree

These are a couple of the samples for the recent show on the Craft Channel featuring brushos and the arboretum tree stamp sets.
I used the tree from the spinney plate for these cards, and the sentiment from words of inspiration
I was trying to create a landscape for the first one, got a very different effect from the one I was aiming for, but that is part of the fun with brushos!.
I used watercolour card with turquoise and leaf green brusho after stamping the tree with black versafine ink and clear embossing it. The powders were sprinkled onto dry card,, with most of the green over the actual tree for the foliage, and the blue for the sky -  and a lot of spritzing with water. The tiny dot of orange was meant to be the sun rising behind hills ................there are sort of hills if you have a good imagination!
I cut the card down to fit onto a 6"x6" sqare black card blank, and stamped the words on a cut-off bit of the card.

The second card was made in the same way, adding the red and green brusho powders with a mini spoon to give the effect of autumn leaves, Again onto dry card, which was heavily spritzed with water - I spread the green round the base of the tree with a clean paintbrush, and added the darker green at the base of the tree using the very tip of the paintbrush dipped into the powder.

Thank you for reading this, hope you managed to see the shows - I thought  Lesley did a wonderful job! Please keep checking the blog, the girls have done some really fab samples for the shows
