Tranquility (by Julie)

Hello, I have two cards to show you today.

My first card is made with Artistic Affirmations and Tranquility. Firstly I inked up the cherry blossom from Tranquility with Onyx Black Versafine and stamped the branch in each corner of the card blank. I then stamped the branch four more times to fill in the gaps but making sure I left space in the centre so that the sentiment from Artistic Affirmations could be stamped.
The background was coloured with Mustard Seed and Salty Ocean Distress inks and the blossom was coloured with Polychromos Pencils and finished off with dabs of Crystal Stickles.

My second card has been created with Eastern Grasses.
I started the card by stamping the grass panel onto copy paper so that I could cut out and make masks.
I then inked up the panel again using green Versafine ink and stamped to the left of my card blank and then covered with a mask. I then repeated this process, each time covering my previously stamped image with a mask so that I ended up with 4 panels.
Whilst the stamped panels are still covered with masks, ink up the large grass stamp with grey Versafine ink and stamp vertically and horizontally so that the background of the card is covered. The background has then been coloured with Picked Raspberry and Hickory Smoke Distress ink and the panels have been shaded with coloured pencils.
I have added white paint pen dots to the background and along each top and left hand edges of the panels. To create further depths I have darkened each panel's right and bottom edges with grey coloured pencils.

Thanks for looking and please call back for daily Design Team inspiration.

  2. Two fabullous cards Julie, and the blossom frames the sentiment beautifully, and love the soft and pretty colours, and adore the tiles made from the plate stamp from the Eastern Grasses, and the background made with one of the foliage stamps from the set as a random all over pattern looks really great. The soft pink and caramel colours work so well together too. x
