A lovely bright morning as I type this - blue skies, sunshine, snow, but minus temperatures outside - just the day for crafting!
Today I have a card to show using the lovely new floral perfumery stamp set , and a technique that I haven't used for a long time, one introduced to me by Doreen Sympson who learned it from Lynnda Worsnop.....
I dusted the stamp with brusho powders, then covered it with pva glue and left it to dry.....I used far too much brusho the first time, so scrapped that
I had used the stamp normally several times before deciding to have another go, and just covered the stamp with the pva this time, intending to colour it later. To my surprise this was the result - there was obviously enough brusho left in the crevices to colour the stamp. I do realise I am admitting here that I hadn't cleaned the stamp at all since my first effort, so apologies to all who religiously clean their stamps after every use!
It does take about 24 hours to dry the pva, but it is easy to peel off the stamp then. I trimmed round the image with scissors then glued it onto a square card blank. Sentiment stamped with versamark and gold embossed.
My teamies will be showing you some stunning samples samples over the next few weeks from the new stamps shown on Hochanda last month, so do keep checking for some inspiration!
lovely card
ReplyDeleteThis technique sounds very interesting and one I have never tried. The result is muted but very pretty and the texture of the finished piece makes it just that bit different. I was worried about it sticking to the stamp but it sounds as though when dry it will peel off easily so that's OK. x
ReplyDeleteThis is gorgeous Veronica.
