Awesome Orchids - 10 min card by Florence

Hi everyone

Thank you for calling in.

Always great to have your company.

Today, I have a really quick and easy card to share with you.

For this card, I have used one of the flower heads and the sentiment from the Awesome Orchids set.

For my main piece, I stamped the flower head randomly onto a piece of coated card stock using Orange Blossom Archival Ink and trimmed the piece to size.
Using a hole punch, I punched out half circles on both sides of the stamped piece.
I wrapped a piece of gold thread around the card, using the punched out half circles to hold the thread in place and then secured it on the reverse with some tape.
I cut out a small tag and stamped onto it the sentiment.
I attached the tag to the thread using a little jump ring and secured the tag to my stamped piece using a foam tab.
I then made up the card as seen.

Happy Stamping

  1. It's lovely Flo and a great color contrast! Have a nice day, xxMiranda

  2. So elegant! And nice tough the tag!

  3. That's a really super idea using the punched half circles to secure the gold thread - it looks very neat & with the use of the jump ring gives a very professional finish. The matting onto orange & then the white base makes this a lovely CAS card.

  4. Lovely! Thanks for the tip about the cut-out half-circles too - great idea.

  5. A jump ring and I'm jumping for joy here . I absolutely love this ,beautiful, simple and I think with my level of skill I could actually do something similar . Now to finish my coffee and prepare for a lovely virginia beach garden tour . Always beautiful and the weather is jumping with the thecreators joy !

  6. A very simple but elegant card Florence and the Archival ink picks up every detail of this pretty stamp. The slot each side holds the thread in place perfectly and the sentiment tag raised up and held place by pads gives great dimension. The ink and the card colour match beautifully too. x

  7. Gorgeous card Florance, I love the the colour you've used to stamp the flower image and the little cutout bit to hold the thread, brilliant inspiration, Kate x

  8. beautiful stamping Flo - fabulous idea for a quick card - lovely x

  9. What a fantastic card, it may be quick for you to make but it certainly doesn't look that way
