Sunny lotus (posted by Claire)

Good morning, Claire here with another samples using this months new stamps. I thought it would be nice to make a bright sunny card, perhaps a get well card or even for Mothers Day.

I've used this beautiful image from Serenity and stamped the lotus with Memento Ink before colouring with Graph'It markers. I've die cut with spellbinders Floral Ovals. The background was made using Wild Honey, Scattered Straw and Rusty Hinge  distress inks and the acrylic block technique before roughly stamping the flower with versamark and embossing with white embossing powder. I've added some lace, gingham ribbon and matted it  all on a scalloped card blank.

Thanks for popping by, hope you're enjoying the new stamps as much as we are

  4. I love the way you inked the image panel leaving the centre absolutely crisply white & allowing the filigree shaped edge to almost, but not quite, merge with the background. The colouring of those green leaves is very dimensional & I love the way your gingham ribbon echoes the green leaves whereas the white lace brings out the white embossing. A very interesting background indeed whilst still allowing the image to take centre stage. You're right it brought me a ray of sunshine on a frosty day.

  7. The lovely bright vermillion of the central image is complemented perfectly by that wonderfully bright background, and I love the touches of white with the stamping and embossing. The green gingham ribbon is just the right colour and the pure white lace and the white centre of the oval mat lead your eye in to that beautifully coloured image. A super card.
