Good morning, Claire here with a card made using the beautiful Mackintosh Windows stamp set.
I've made a distress ink background and overstamped with one of the stamps from Mackintosh Windows and then matted on some black card. I stamped the focal image on acetate and embossed with black embossing powder. I coloured the image on the reverse with Graph'It markers and then added some double sided adhesive sheet. Next I peeled the backing off the adhesive sheet and applied Rock Candy gliltter. I layered the glittered image on a die cut square and added a strip of faux gems along the side of the image.
Thanks for visiting today
Claire xx
Totally different this card and so beautiful to use the same stamp as a background!
ReplyDeleteso clever - what a wonderful idea xx
ReplyDeleteThis is very effective Claire - I love the way those faux gems really draw the eye & how your die-cut frame melds with the Art Deco design. Using the same stamp for the tone-on-tone background works beautifully here as it's actually not evident at first glance that it is the same stamp yet the eye registers it subconsciously.

I'm always intrigued by backgrounds and this one is no exception. I love it. Your image is so nice too.
ReplyDeleteLovely technique which shows off the stamped image to it's best..Helen
ReplyDeleteGorgeous, gorgeous!!! Love this technique and love what you have created, thank you for sharing x
ReplyDeleteThis is lovely. I like the DI background, and the inking is nicely varied so that it isn't just one flat colour. The focal image is layered on a pretty ornate S/B die cut mat which fits in perfectly, and the black stands out from the background. The idea of using acetate and colouring from behind like a stained glass window and the use of the fine glitter over the top makes for added interest. A really different card and beautiful too.
ReplyDeleteWow, fabulous card and great colours, thanks for sharing!! Coco x
