Guest Blog Post - Creative Art by Linda Simpson

This week our guest DT member is Linda Simpson, who has been working with Tangled Fragments. Linda has designed three beautiful pieces of artwork for us, today is the first in the series.

Here is the first of 3 of my GDT posts using the stamp set Tangled Fragments

1. Base card is cream 13 cm x 13 cm.
2. I have matted and layered blue, brown and green card at angles onto the base card.
3. Using pieces of glossy card and marbling inks in blue, green, yellow and a touch of orange I created 3 backgrounds. Once this was dry I stamped the image first with brown ink, second card with green ink and the third with blue ink, I embossed them all with embossing powder then decoupaged them up for dimension.
4. To finish off I added Tim Holtz Chit Chat Words Art and Creative, I didn't add any other embellishments as I wanted the stamped image to be the focal point.

A big thank you from us Linda for this inspiring design, we look forward to seeing what you have in store for us next week. I'm sure Linda woould be thrilled if you took the time to leave a comment and you can see more of her artwork at Linda's Crafty Piece of Heaven

  7. Very interesting card, love the colours and you're right about keeping the stamping as the focal point - no distractions :)

  8. Fascinating to see how you used the same colours of mats as inks for the pods. Your distribution of the blue green & brown pods is very effective; using only a large & small pod in the dominant blue is brilliant with your placing of the green ones in a visual triangle. A real study in use of colour & composition.

  13. This is very creative, and the layout and colours of the pods harmonise beautifully with the three under layers. I like the loose watery appearance of some of the pods and the splashes of green, red and yellow. A pretty creation. x
