A poppy easel card (posted by Elaine)

I wanted to make a traditional, rather old fashioned kind of card with these Poppy Meadow stamps and here is the result.

I used cream card for my base and stamped the image in Vintage Sepia Versafine. I cut the image and sentiment panels out using the lovely Spellbinder Radiant Rectangles set. I added colour with my Prisma colour pencils and added a couple of layers of decoupaged petals on the main flowers.  The main panel was ink shaded with some Vintage Photo Distress Ink while it was still in the die. The main panel is mounted on dark red card and the sentiment is mounted on another die cut in the same colour. The easel is cut from kraft card and the whole thing finished with a little bow.

Hope you are finding some inspiration here for these wonderful stamps.

  4. Stamping the poppies with the Vintage Sepia gives such a softness to this & I love the shading of those poppy buds & seed heads. The marroon on the kraft with the splashes of white is very effective too & I particularly like your layering of that sentiment on the oval. Your bow adds a lovely touch of purple red too.
