Magical Landscapes (by Julie)

Hello and welcome. Today I am excited to show you a couple of cards that were on Lesley's Hochanda shows last month. They both feature wonderful castle designs which go beautifully with the stunning Fairy stamps that are also being featured this month. Both cards have been stamped with Magical Landscapes

For my first card I inked up the castle with Onyx Black Versafine and stamped onto watercolour card and coloured with brush markers. Stamp the design a couple more times as you will need to cut out the trees to hide the ends of the rainbow. I stencilled the sun's rays before stamping the rain clouds and coloured with brush markers. You will also need to stamp an extra cloud onto spare card, cut out and adhere to the design with 3d glue gel. I designed the rainbow on my cutting machine but a similar effect can be created with metal circle die cuts. Just tape two dies down onto your chosen card that are different by just one size, before passing through your die cutting machine.
The edge of the card is created by sponging white Gesso, wait for it to dry and then go over it with Hickory Smoke and Iced Spruce Distress inks finish off with white paint pen dots.

For my second card I applied molding paste through a brick wall stencil and when dry coloured with acrylic paint. The surrounding card areas were coloured with Distress inks that had been applied with cut n dry foam. Both of the mini stamped images have been stamped with Onyx Black Versafine and coloured with brush markers.
I inked up the main castle image with Onyx Black Versafine and stamped onto spare card and then cut out with a circle die, however before you die cut the design take a pair of scissors and cut around the sun/moon and then place your circle die underneath, so when your die cut comes out it looks like the moon is popping out of the image. Adhere the castle to the card base with 3d glue gel and finish of with white paint pen highlights.

Thanks for taking a peek and please call back tomorrow for more Design Team inspiration.

  3. Two wonderful creations Julie, and the rainbow, sun's rays and clouds looks quite spectacular and then the texture with the modelling paste through the brick wall stencil is a great background and both using the Magical Landscapes castles as the focal images which work well here. x
