Hello everyone, I hope you are doing well.
My designs today feature vibrant colours with the gorgeous and versatile Briar Rose Butterfly and Harebell Butterfly sets.
The
large background is Ripe Persimmon and Seedless Preserves Distress Inks
that I stamped onto my craft mat and spritzed with water. I dragged the
cardstock through the ink and when dry I stamped the branch with both
colours.
The smaller background is using the same
technique but with Ripe Persimmon and Picked Raspberry Distress Ink. I
used the Harlequin stencil by TCW to add the diamond pattern.
I stamped the gorgeous image from Briar Rose Butterfly with
Cobalt Archival Ink and coloured with Prisma Pencils. I stamped the
image a second time to decoupage the butterflies which are popped up
over the background. I added stickles to the butterfly wings.
And below is a CAS style card using the same colours:
The
background was created by blending Ripe Persimmon and Picked Raspberry
Distress Inks over a circle cut in cardstock. I stamped a fragment from
Textured Fragments
with the Picked Rasberry ink. The flowers from Harebell Butterfly were
stamped with black archival ink. The sentiment is from the fabulous Mackintosh Sentiments.
I hope you are able to visit often as we have lots to show this month, my teammates have created beautiful designs.
If you've missed the previous post today, it announces the May Comments winner. :)
Thanks for stopping by and have a great day,
Shirley

Those reds and pink are beautiful, but the CAS-card is stunning!
ReplyDeleteso very beautiful Shirley - I love both cards - I have already ordered the briar rose set of stamps - beautiful xx
ReplyDeleteWhat lovely vibrant colours, and I love the background stamping and stencilling on the first card with the beautifully coloured Briar Rose, and I love the touches of stickles on the wings, and it is all set off perfectly by that purple backing card. The second is so elegant and the Harebells are wonderful highlighted against the circular shape which has that lovely Texture Fragment background, and there is lovely contrast between the white image layer and then the black with the orangy red colour of the card. x
ReplyDeleteThese are stunning, the vibrancy of the colours in the first card is gorgeous and loving the beautiful designs.

Wow, gorgeous colours & the cards are stunning.
ReplyDeleteIt's your second sample that really catches my eye - the way you have added that border of red to the edge of the focal panel really makes the eye 'see' the red of the card base & the reddish tones in the circular inked background which acts like a spotlight for the flowers. In the first it's the way you background stamping - especially top right - serves to mimic the striations of the butterflies' wings which catches my attention.

I adore both of these - the beautiful inky backgrounds are stunning. Then onto a CAS card which is just as stunning! Thank you for sharing with us Karen x
