For my first project I've used some bits of pretty floral background papers and an image from the Harebell Butterfly sheet to create this delicate feminine card. It's a simple project requiring just a few embellishments - some pearls and sheer ribbon. Here's a closer look at the beautiful sprig of harebells. I coloured it with alcohol markers and cut and layered it using Spellbinders Floral Oval die.

For my second project, I made my own background by inking directly on to the card base using Tim Holtz Distress Inks in Bundled Sage and Squeezed Lemonade, and one of the smaller stamps from the Harebell Butterfly sheet. The colours are heavy in the bottom, getting progressively lighter in the top. I did not blend the inks and went with the mottled look. Through the window you can see the stamped the image, which is inside of the card. The fussy cut butterflies are also from the Harebell Butterfly sheet. Here's a look at the lovely harebells. I coloured the image with alcohol markers and finished the project with beautiful words from Loving Sentiments.

Wonderfull cards! So beautiful the combinations of stamps and colours and layout!
ReplyDeleteBoth cards are lovely, and the Harebell stamps are so pretty and delicate. The first has that lovely bold backing paper and gorgeous die cut frame in that really pretty pink, and the second with the inked background is a nice summer green, and I like the way you have made a circular window through which we can see the flowers and butterfly and the added bonus of that lovely verse when you open the card. The butterflies on both the cards are beautiful and enhance the images perfectly. x
ReplyDeletelovely cards
ReplyDeleteLovely cards, I like the orange butterfly.
ReplyDeleteSo elegant and creative!
ReplyDeleteA set of really gorgeous cards, lovely done!!! x
ReplyDeleteThe gleam of the Harebell tips in the first & the way the oval white panel draws the eye in toward the focal image are what catch my eye in the first. In the second it's the scalloped right edge border echoed by that round the aperture & the integration of the internal butterfly with those on the card front to give a cohesive whole that are so striking - a lovely unusual idea.
