Feathery Fragments & Presents (by Asha)

Good morning, fellow crafters. Today I have 3 cards to share with you, featuring stamps from the brand new Harlequin Fragments A4 sheet. A full description of inks, markers and other materials used in these project is available on my blog.

My first card is a bright and cheerful number. I started by inking the background in various shades of yellow. Then I fashioned the border by repeat stamping around the card. Next I stamped the feathery backdrop in blue ink. The end result is an image in turquoise green - perfect for the fussy cut peacock from the Indian Textiles A5 sheet. The greeting is from Birthday Words A5 sheet.

************

My second project is all about the calm blue waters. Here I'm using a stamp from the Harlequin Fragments A4 sheet to create bubbles and foam by inking in blue and white. The supporting cast - clouds and gulls - are from Seashore Scenes A5 sheet and Seashell Collage A5 sheet respectively. That sentiment is from Words Of Comfort And Cheer A4 sheet.

************

My final project for today is a birthday card, created with the help of the pile of fussy cut pressies from A Gift Of Christmas A4 sheet.  First I prepared the background with warm pink inks and the harlequin stamp from Harlequin Fragments A4 sheet. The sentiments is from Birthday Words A5 sheet.

Thank you for stopping by today. Make sure you drop in regularly to see more inspirational work from the rest of the Design Team.

Beijinhos,
Asha

  4. Three beautiful cards Asha. You have really shown how versatile these background stamps can be and how they can be used with any other stamp and in any style or theme of card making. Wonderful ideas. I can't choose a favorite because I love them all. Thank you for sharing.

  9. These are all beautiful and with great use of the new fragments, and using really lovely colours. I love the frame like border on the first with the peacock and then the fragment in the background which looks like the feathers, also the bubble like one with the seagulls looks perfect, and the the harleqin with the presents on the third makes a great birthday card. Just wonderful mixing and matching. x

  10. I had to look twice at your first sample - the way that the stem fragment picks up on the shapes in the peacock's tail is incredible, it's not until you actually SEE it that it's apparent. The exploding stripes fragment looks super echoing the green of the peacock's body. Your second sample is my favourite - I love the striped twine creating a really nautical feel to the whole & those bubbles are perfect for creating the illusion of spuming foam. Your final card makes excellent use of the harlequin fragment to echo the harlequin pattern of the pink present - nice touch colouring that one pink in keeping with the background & matching fragment. I love your sprinkling of little gems too.
