Flower Power (by Shirley)

Hello everyone, I hope you are doing well.

I have a couple more designs to show today using the fabulous Sketchy Doodle Landscape set.

The background was created with Dylusions and Brusho inks.  I over stamped with fragments from Abstract Fragments.and Harlequin Fragments.   I also added circles with white Acrylic paint and a small empty bottle.

The flowers were stamped with archival ink, sprayed with Fuchsia Dylusions ink, highlighted with a white pencil, carefully cut out and attached to the background.

The card below was quick to make:

The background was stenciled (TCW Echoes) and the main image was coloured with pencils.  Best Wishes is from Mackintosh Sentiments.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day,
Shirleyx

  1. Especially love the first card, beautiful colours. Love how you have highlighted the flowers with the white pencil. The Mackintosh sentiments definitely on my wish list too as I also have one of the Mackintosh sets which is so versatile.

  2. It's interesting to see the way you have the lilac mauves in both the background & the flowers of the first card - just that tiny hint in the background softens the whole design which is made very striking by your stark contrasts of black & white. However, it's the second that absolutely fascinates me - the dots of the Macintosh font being perfect echoes of the flower's centres & paired with the pearls providing a balancing frame for the flowers, funnily (perhaps not!!) there are 3 dots in the sentiment to match your 3 pearls. The background stencilling is a perfect complement to those flower centres too. A real delight.

  3. I must try using white pencil because the effect is really nice. I also like how you used a small bottle and white paint. Very pretty cards.

  6. Two pretty cards and lovely colours as usual Shirley. I love the fragments which give such interest to the background and then topped by the large flowers on the first, and then the second with the pretty blue stencilled background and the smaller flowers which I think are very Mackintosh. I love the black you have introduced on both cards which adds good contrast. x
