We take inspiration for making art from many places and this card was inspired by Moorcroft Pottery that Florence from the Team had pinned on Pinterest. I have a Moorcroft piece that belonged to my Mum but unfortunately the family don't like it so it's carefully packed away.
I started with black card rubbing it with an anti static bag and then stamped the flower border with Versamark Ink and heat embossed with Gold powder. I repeated with the smaller flowers from the set. The flowers and leaves were coloured with Twinkling H2Os and against the black card the colours really shine. I cut a tag and added a sentiment then stamped around the edges of it. The ribbon is used sparingly as it's one of my favourites and matches the purple card well.

Stunning!! I loved this the first time I saw it. The vibrant colors (H20s) against the dark background, the gold embossing, the luxury of that purple ribbon (I can see why you used it sparingly)......All such yummy ingredients. Ok, I love Moorcroft so I am not going to mention too much about you stashing the piece away! Thanks for sharing Debbie. Fab inspiring ideas.

ReplyDeleteHello Debbie
ReplyDeleteI love the colours and the way the H2O's twinkle.... really like the design of Moorcroft even though I don't own any.
Love Marg
The gold scalloped side edges provide a lovely echo for the bottom of the embossed flower border & I particularly like the contrast that your tag makes whilst still keeping the same imagery. It is very Moorcroft indeed - designs that I too am a huge fan of.

This is so pretty and the H20's work wonderfully with the black card, which contrasts beautifully with the white tag with black ink. I love the purple ribbon on the card and the tag. Moorcroft designs are just so gorgeous.
