Hello, today I have two cards using completely different stamps but using the same design technique.
Birdcage Collage and Floral Edges are the stamp sets used for my first design.
To start with I inked up the floral border from Floral Edges, using grey Versafine and stamped on a diagonal, onto my base card. You will notice that the stamp is not long enough to go across the entire card so make sure any joins you need to make are where the birdcage design will sit.
Next you need to ink up your birdcage with Onyx Black Versafine and stamp onto separate card. Colour with your choice of pens or pencils and then cut out, leaving a 3 to 4 mm border around the entire design. Attach to the front of the card with 3D foam pads.
I have used Ladies Slipper Orchid as the main design for this card and the background was created from Decorative Edges.
Coloured pencils were used to add colour to the orchid and the background was coloured with Pan Pastels.
As I had used Onyx Black Versafine to stamp the background I decided to set the black ink off by mounting the design onto black card-stock before attaching to the base card.
Thank you for taking a look and please call back for daily Design Team inspiration.

I love the way you have used the Decorative and Floral Edge border stamps diagonally across the background Julie, and the softish colours you have used on the images over the top are so pretty. Two beautiful cards! x
ReplyDeleteThese are brilliant I love the diagonal backgrounds.
