Brenda has created a beautiful box of cards. She stamped the box lid itself with Distress Inks, to create multicoloured images. The box itself is a hint of the loveliness to expect inside:
To create the cards, she has inked the backgrounds with Distress Ink, added stencilling, and then stamped the images with black ink.
By choosing a common layout, the cards appear to be part of the same set. The possibilities to mix and match the stamps are enormous, we have lots of these 'edge' type stamp sets, and they all work very well for this type of card.
For her next two cards, Brenda has used Distress Oxides on her background, and adding a wash of clear sparkle pen over the top to blend the colours slightly. She has added black stamping again, to complete the cards.
We have some stunning mail art from Zoe next, this would be sure to cheer up your day if you received any of these envelopes in your letter box. For the first two projects, Zoe has masked off an area to write the address before inking up the envelope and adding some stamping. On her final envelope, she has added some doodling to create an area for the address to be written. In each case, the edge stamps make a really great addition to the envelopes, and show how easily you can create different looks.
A monochrome card from Carole next, she has added a border from the Indian Textiles stamp set, stamped twice to create a wide background across her background. Extra shading had been added around the edges. She has embellished the card with an image from the Nature's Paisleys stamp set, and added a sentiment from the Loving Sentiments stamp set.
Two cards from me next, the first was created by stamping the Auricula Script image onto Kraft card using Versamark and white embossing powder. I coloured the image using Koh-i-Noor paints. I added some shading around the edge of the kraft card with Distress Ink. I made a toning background using Distress Inks on drawing cartridge. I matted the background onto plum and kraft card, and added some coordinating ribbon.
For my second card, I stamped the same image onto a piece of drawing cartridge and coloured it with watercolour pencils. I painted Stickles onto the flowers and leaves with a thin brush. This does not take very long to dry. I stamped an image from the Floral Edges stamp set onto a piece of Crafty Individuals paper, to create a border, then matted everything onto purple and green card.
Rachel has also used the Auricula Script stamp in the first of her projects this month, achieving a very different look. She has used the bold harlequin edge to create a background using Distress Oxides, and added some of the words from the Amazing Mackintosh Words stamp set. She painted the image with Distress Oxides.
For her second project, she has used the Lady's Slipper Orchid and gilding flakes on black card, to create this very dramatic looking card. She has coloured the image with metallic pencils.
For her third card, she used white embossing powder and coloured the image with pencils.
To create her final card, she stamped the image with black ink, colouring it with pencils, before adding shading around the edge with Distress Ink, and adding stamping, again with Distress Ink.
Marga has created a very elegant monochrome card for us, showing the quality of the stamp off perfectly. She has used a spotlight technique, cutting a circle from the image, and adding a circular mat of black card behind it.
We have two cards from Pat this month. The first, was created by stamping with Versamark and white embossing powder onto glossy card. She has added alcohol inks to colour the image. The sentiment was added with grey ink.
For her second card, she stamped and embossed the image and sentiment using silver embossing powder. She spritzed Distress Ink, and added extra colour with a water brush.
We have some Brusho magic from Vronnie next. She has created some beautiful backgrounds, added white embossing, and some touches of extra colour, the results are fabulous.
We have a mixed selection from Magda, as always this month. She has created a little bit of everything, so you will be sure to find something useful in her collection! Her first card is a simple colour scheme of kraft and white, very elegant. She has used brown ink for stamping, and white pencil to colour the leaves and flowers.
She has used Brusho and a waterbrush to create the background for her next three cards, adding simple coloured stamping.
As Halloween is just around the corner, Magda has created a seasonal card to add to this month's post. She has coloured the image with watercolour pencils, and used the edge of a stamp pad to create the background pattern.
Two cards from Penny complete our offerings this month. She stamped and embossed the image with gold embossing powder, and coloured the image with sparkle pens and water. She cut the image out and stuck it to a card blank before stamping the sentiment.
She created a Brusho background and stamped the grasses and sentiment using gold embossing powder. She created a larger background using the little worker stamps from the Floral Edges stamp set. An orange mat completes the card.
That completes our projects for this month. We hope that you have enjoyed what we have shared with you, and have been inspired to try some of our ideas.
