The Blue Lady by Doreen

Hello to you all, I am sharing another Fabulous Flapper  from the May new releases.
I have made this into a tag..

I first painted  the tag with black acrylic paint left it to dry then clear embossed the stamps from the Eastern Grasses sheet,I then painted over the top of this with the blue acrylic and whilst it was still wet wiped over a damp tissue so removing some of the paint to reveal the images and black paint  underneath.....I saw this technique on a Tim Holtz web page some time back....

The flapper was stamped onto white card and coloured with distress inks then fussy cut. This was stuck to the tag along with the die-cut lamp.Last of all I dry brushed some white acrylic around the edge of the tag followed by Black Soot distress ink.

  5. This is a very striking tag. The pretty blue of the flapper's coat makes the image stand out well from the darker distressed background. I love the addition of the lamp which has been nicely distressed too. x

  6. Hurrah, my subscriptions are coming to me again. I don't know what happened but Feedburner blogs stopped coming to me for over a month. I'm glad to catch up with your blog. This tag is beautiful. The flapper is very cute.

  13. The wintery effects you have included in this little artwork make it very striking - one can imagine the cracked ice of the background & I love the blue/white colouring combined with the cool steeliness of your lamppost. The whole ambience is of a 1920s winter!
