Guest Blog Post - Chocolate Baroque Dream by Linda Simpson

Here is the next guest post in our mini series from Linda Simpson. This is her take on a circular design using the Tangled Fragments stamp set.


Today I am sharing my second GDT for Chocolate Baroque

1. Base card is cut out using Spellbinder Grande Scalloped Circle Die

2. The first layer is pale yellow card cut out with Spellbinder Grande Circle Die, I then inked around the edges with Dew Drop Brilliance Cosmic Copper ink

3. The background is made by using shaving foam and spraying Cosmic Shimmer Mica mists into the foam and placing the card onto the foam then lifting off, removing the foam which reveals the pattern.  

4. I stamped the image using Versafine Vintage Sepia and embossed with embossing powder, this was then cut out with scalloped circle die and the edges inked with Cosmic Copper ink. I coloured some of the shapes with Spica in brown and yellow.

5. To finish off I added the ticket Dream.

I don't know what you think but this reminds me of a cream pie, definitely dreamy! Well done Linda and thank you for sharing another lovely piece of artwork. Christmas in July (by Asha)

Hello, fellow crafters. Have you seen the new Christmas stamps? They are delightfully magical! I had a play with the Snowy Scenes A5 sheet and produced this little number:

I created the background by first stamping the snowflakes and heat embossing them in white. Next I worked on the night sky by blending several shades of blue and puple Distress Inks. For a touch of sparkle added pale purple bling in the centre of the larger flakes. For the ground I blended a couple of neutral shades of Distress Inks.  That wonderful sentiment is from the new Christmas Magic clear stamp sheet.

Here's a close-up of the lovely image from the Snowy Scenes A5 sheet. I coloured the church with alcohol markers and carefully cut it out from it's original scene. Then I adhered it to the background I had prepared and finished the card with a few red bling on the tree.

Christmas Birds (posted by Judith)

Hi Folks, I have a couple of Christmas samples for you today, using stamps from our Snowy Scenes/Turtle Doves multi-buy offer. Generally, I like to work with bigger cards, but I found myself making some cute 6" x 6" cards with the lovely images.

My first card was created by stamping the owl image down the side of the card, and extending the tree trunk to the bottom of the card with a black pen. I masked over the image, by stamping onto masking paper, and then stamped a tree image from Reindeer Landscape onto the background twice. The sentiment comes from the same set.

I embossed some snowflakes from the multibuy set onto the background using white embossing powder, and then coloured the background, using Distress Inks. I removed the mask from the owl image, and coloured it with pencils. I added a little bit of glitter glue to the hills, and once this was dry, I attached some organza ribbon before I matted the background to some black card.

My second card was created by sponging a piece of white card with green ink, and then stamping around the edges with the end of the swirly bird and pear image, using the same colour green ink. This gives a subtle tone on tone effect. I die cut a pear image from a piece of old book paper, and coloured this with green and orange inks, before sticking it to my background.

I stamped the bird and pear image in black ink over the die cut pear. I stamped the image again onto a piece of white card, and coloured it with pencils, cutting out the bird, leaves and pears. I decoupaged these onto the die cut pear. I added a sentiment from the Pears and Baubles stamp set.

Tangled fragments - as a background stamp (by Maria)

Hey stamping lovers, here I am again with some more samples using the gorgeous Tangled Fragments stamps! Here I used these stamps to give some beautiful background accents to my flower cards, great isn't it?

For my first card I made some curtains with the fragment stamps, it looks like the flowers stand in the

middle of the stage and I think the fragments stamps give a beautiful accent to them like this. I used pan pastels Rich Gold to create the curtains.

 

On the second card I put the fragments stamp in the corners and on the circle border, again they give some accents to show the flowers, don't they? Here, I just used some golden embossing powder to give the accents. Both of my cards are made with dylusions inks, the flower stamps are from the Poppy Meadow and Pretty Poppies stamp sets. I hope you like my samples and that you try some of the stamps too!

Tangled Fragments - By Florence

Hi everyone

As some of you know this month we are featuring Chocolate Baroque's new background stamps Tangled Fragments and Harlequin Fragments.  The DT have been busy making amazing projects.  If you have missed any of the posts or are new to the blog do check them out.  Lots of inspiring ideas as always.

Today I would like to share a couple of cards I made using the Tangled Fragments Stamps.  I hope you like them.

For my first card I stamped onto cream colored card stock using green craft paint.  I then applied some green distress ink all over the stamped piece of card using a sponge.  I removed some of the ink from the center of the circles in the pattern using a damp paint brush and paper towel.

Using another of the stamps from the Tangled Fragments stamp sheet, I stamped the image onto two pre-cut square pieces of coated card stock, using Blue Archival ink and adding a touch of green to the pattern using a felt pen.

I stamped my fishes onto coated card stock using Black Archival ink and then colored them in with felt pens.

I made up the card as seen, using foam pads to add dimension.

I kept to a fish theme for my second card

I dabbed some Distress Ink onto a plastic file wallet, spritzed it with water and then swished a piece of coated card stock around on it, picking up the different colors and left it to dry.

I then stamped the background pattern using one of the Tangled Fragments stamps and Archival Ink.

On a separate piece of coated card stock, I stamped the fish from the "Something Fishy" rubber stamp set using Black Archival Ink, cut them out and colored them in using felt pens.

I used a stamp from the Artistic Affirmations stamp set and stamped onto my prepared stamped piece of card with the sentiment using Archival Ink.

I made up my card as seen using foam pads behind the fish to make them 3D.

Tangled Sunflower (posted by Claire)

Hi there, Claire here with another card made using one of this months new releases,

Tangled Fragments has a fab assortment of stamps that you can use for so many projects. You can find them (and lots of other gorgeous new stamps here)

I began this card by making a distress ink background, using marker card which gave a completely different result to my usual cardstock. I quite liked the effect so I stamped the fragment stamp in a band along the right of the centre of the card and added some colour with Graph'It Markers. I stamped the flower (from Sunny Sunflowers) and again coloured with my Graph'Its. I cut the flowers out and decoupaged them over my stamped border. 

To finish off I stamped the sentiment (from Birthday Words) in Rhubarb Stalk Memento Ink and added some gems in the corners.

Introducing Snowy Scenes, Turtle Doves and Christmas Magic

Hello everyone, I hope that you have been enjoying the warmer temperatures recently. In the crafting diary, our thoughts are turning towards Christmas at this time of year. So I would like to introduce the first of our 2014 Christmas stamps to you. These are a wonderful addition to our Christmas collection as stand alone stamps, or to mix and match with our existing stamp range. There are a mix of both modern and vintage images on the stamp plates.

We have two A5 stamp sets, the first of which is called Snowy Scenes:

The second is called Turtle Doves:

Both sets are available at an introductory price, but as usual you can save even more money by taking advantage of our multi-buy offer.

We also have Christmas Magic, one of our expanding collection of clear stamp sets. These words will make a very useful addition to your Christmas card making or for gift tags  The set is also available at an introductory price.

My sample uses stamps taken from the Turtle Doves stamp set. I used one of the corner branch stamps to create a wreath by stamping repeatedly in a ring onto a white card, using green ink. I coloured the berries using a Distress Marker and a waterbrush. I embossed the two turtle doves using gold embossing powder, and coloured those in the same way. The sentiment comes from the Christmas Magic clear stamp set.

There will be some fabulous inspiration from my Design Team mates using these lovely stamps coming very soon.
