Hello
Today, I propose a card to all the victims of the attacks. A light in this cruel world. A light to say that we will change nothing. We must live with threats, certainly, but live standing in the light. Live, laugh, sing, listen to music, dance, have a drink at an outdoor cafe and believe in a peaceful world.

Aujourd'hui je vous propose une carte pour toutes les victimes des attentats. Une lumière dans ce monde cruel. Une lumière pour dire que nous ne changerons rien. Nous devons vivre avec les menaces, certes, mais vivre debout dans la lumière. Vivre, rire, chanter, aller au concert, danser, boire un verre à la terrasse d'un café et croire à un monde de paix.

I love this stamp. Yes it is not one of the last Chocolate Baroque stamp. But it is soothing.
J'aime ce tampon. Oui, ce n'est pas un des derniers de CB. Mais il est apaisant.

Flowers For You (by Asha)

Good morning, fellow Chocoholics.  I have a quick an easy project to show you. It's bright, bold and  easy to mass produce.

I'm using the brand new Swirl Centre Flowerhead and leaves from an older Sunny Sunflowers A4 stamp sheet to create an elegant friendship card.

Here's how you make this card:

1. Start by stamping 2 flowersheads with Versamark on water colour paper.
2. Apply WOW Gold Rich Embossing Powder and heat set.
3. Repeat above steps on 3 leaves (2 large and 1 small) from the Sunny Sunflowers sheet.
4. Colour with Distress Inks: Abandoned Coral and Work Lipstick for the flowers and Peeled Paint for the leaves. 
5. Allow to dry completely and fussy cut. Split one of the flowerheads in half and save for another project.
6. Trim a piece of cream card stock ¼" smaller than the card base.
7. Stamp sentiment on the cream card front and adhere the flowers and leaves around it as shown above. Pop-up the half-bloom on foam tape for added dimension.
8. Cut a ½" strip of green glitter foam and adhere behind the cream card, with ¼" edge showing.
9. Apply foam tape behind the rest of the cream card and adhere to the card base.

You can easily switch the colours and sentiment and turn it into an any occasion card.

Super Sunflowers (posted by Judith)

Hello everyone, I have another floral project to share with you today, using one of the Flowerhead Collection cling mounted stamps. I have chosen to use the Daisy Ring image to create my card, as I liked the versatility of this design, with the open centre.

I have added some leaves from the Sunny Sunflowers stamp set, and butterflies from the Thistle Butterfly and Briar Rose Butterfly stamp sets. The sentiment is from the Mackintosh Sentiments clear stamp set.

I have used a combination of stamping and masking to create the cluster of sunflowers at the bottom of my card. I decoupaged the central flower and the butterflies for a bit of interest.

Sunflowers are my Mother in Law's favourite flower. They are so cheery, and would brighten up anyone's day. If you would like to know how I created this card, please pop along to my blog for full instructions. Thanks for stopping by, Judith xx

Floral Decorated Candles (by Anne)

Morning all. I so love these big floral stamps. This time I have used all six of the fabulous new Flowerhead stamps to jazz up some candles. I hope that you like them.

 

WARNING: The method involves melting the wax with a heat gun to embed stamped tissue paper onto the candle surface. Please take care. Wax is flammable. It may be an idea to have a wet tea towel by your side to smother the candle should a mishap occur and the wax ignites. This has never happened to me yet – but please be vigilant. This is not a project for the children.

I don’t intend to burn these candles but am having them simply as decoration. I have safely burned these in the past without any problem. If you do burn them there is a possibility of the tissue catching fire and acting as a wick. Again, please take care.

I hope I haven’t scared you all! They are really fun to make and look lovely.

Materials:

• Flowerhead stamps (Daisy Centre, Swirl Centre, Mesh Centre, Daisy Ring Centre, Circle Centre and Dotty Centre) and Nature Fragments set
• Inkpads – Dye inks (green, turquoise and purple), Memento (TuxedoBlack)
• White tissue paper and baking parchment
• Alcohol ink pens (lime greens, turquoises, pinks and purples)
• Fine tipped marker (black)

Method:

1. Stamp the flowers onto tissue paper with black ink, colour with alcohol pens and emphasis some of the outlines with fine black marker. Cut out.
2. Stamp the texture stamp using random mix of the coloured dye inks. Tear into small patches.
3. Working with one stamped image at a time, place onto the candle and hold in place using the baking parchment. Grip the parchment so that it sits tightly and smoothly over the stamped image. Heat the stamped area using a heat gun. As soon as you see the wax begin to melt move the gun slowly across the image (in a similar manner to melting embossing powder). Do not keep the heat in one spot for too long. The wax melts almost instantly and the tissue becomes embedded into the surface.

Swaying Flower Heads (by Julie)

Hello and welcome. Today I have a cute shrink plastic card that I have made with the brand new Dotty Centre Flower Head stamp.

I started by flicking purple and green acrylic paint onto the base card and edged it with Squeezed Lemonade Distress Ink. I found that by dipping  a small bottle cleaner type brush into acrylic paint and then stroking it with a kebab stick was the best way to apply the paint and not make too much mess.

The main flower was stamped with Onyx Black Versafine and coloured with Pan Pastels and Crystal Stickles and the shrink plastic flowers were stamped with black Staz-On and coloured with pencils. Before I shrank the flowers with a heat tool, I punched a hole so that I could attach a jump ring and chain as it is too difficult to make a hole once they are shrunk. The other end of the chains were threaded onto a head pin and then each end of the head pin was secured onto the card with a  foam pad so the chains can not fall off. I then glued the flower over the top using 3d glue gel.

It takes two (by Veronica)

I was delighted to be asked to join the team by Lesley, to put it mildly!  I have loved the stamps for many years from back in the olden days of wood mounts – and yes, I am that ancient (though I prefer the recycled teenager label!).

My first set of stamps are the flowerheads, BIG stamps already cling mounted and ready to use, they make very quick cards on their own.

I decided to use my Brusho powders for the background, and my first card uses the Swirl Centre Flowerhead, stamped with Versamark and clear embossed onto watercolour card.  After spraying with water Brusho powders in lemon and orange were sprinkled round the flower, sprayed again with water and then brushed out with a paintbrush to fill the flowerhead. Cut down to fit a 6” square black card blank, the sentiment from LovingSentiments was stamped in black Memento, mat layers are black and dull gold.

For the second card I used the same Brusho colours, but this time the Circle Centre Flowerhead, embossed with white EP this time, to make the flower stand out a little more from the background. I also added some brown powder to the flower centre this time, which made for a more vibrant colour as it spread out onto the petals. I used a cream 7” square card blank, with an orange mat layer. The sentiment from Words of Comfort and Cheer was again stamped in black Memento.

Guest Post - A Flight of Butterflies by Shilpa Nagaonkar

It is my great pleasue to welcome another of our Guest BloggingTeam, this time all the way from India we have Shilpa who creates some beautiful and colourful artwork.  Her first post this week features the Just Butterflies stamp set, I know you will love this project.

Hello Everyone, I am super excited to be Guest Designer at Chocolate Baroque this month. For my first project I've Altered Wooden Plaque. I am in love with this Chocolate Baroque Just Butterflies stamp set. It has very beautiful and detail designed butterfly images.

• This is a mixed media piece, so to start with I applied primary coat of white gesso to my plaque. When it dried completely, I applied Finnabair Platinum Crackle paste through Prima Turkish Grunge stencil, let it dry completely to get best crackle effect.
• Next I applied Tim Holtz Distress paints Wilted Violet and Peacock feather randomly on the surface, spritzed water to let color move around. When I satisfied with colors, I dried the surface with heat tool. For more texture I stamped with Chocolate Baroque Abstract Fragment stamp and Azure Staz on ink. And my background was ready.
• Next I stamped Butterflies with Versa Mark ink, used clear embossing powder and heat set it. I've used Sakura watercolor markers to color them.
• Lastly I arranged window, flowers, Butterflies, hearts crystals, "Journey" word on the plaque.

Steampunk swirl flower (posted by Claire)

Good morning, I hope you're having a good crafty week. Its been very wet and blowing a gale in my little corner of the UK so its been perfect weather to stay home and craft. I've used the lovely 'Swirl Centre Flowerhead' to make this steampunk themed card. 

It was a very quick card, I embossed some black cardstock with a steampunk embossing folder and coloured with PanPastels. I began with shades of green and turquoise and then applied versamark before liberally applying copper, bronze and rich gold.

I stamped the flower head onto black card with versamark ink and embossed with WOW Copper embossing powder. I cut the flower out, curled the petals and layered it up over a scrap of copper coloured ribbon.

Flowerhead by Zoe

Good morning Lovelies. Today I'm sharing with you my samples of these gorgeous new "Flowerhead" stamps, they are stunning and a great size, I can see the versatility in them for every type of project.
I'm kicking off my samples with my colourful designs, my first is an MDF heart I first painted with black Gesso and covered with Versamark Ink and heat embossed using and Ultra Thick Enamel, I did this twice and while I was heating I inked up my stamp with Versamark just so it doesn't stick and stamped into the enamel while it was molten, waited a few seconds to cool but not too dry and removed the stamp, while it was still a little tacky I gently brushed over some gold Mica Powder, when it was fully cold and hard I buffed with a soft cloth.

My second project is a card I made using the "Faux Batik" technique. Before I started I made a "mask" by stamping the Flowerhead onto some scrap paper and cutting it out, I then stamped off the edge of my card using a Versamark inkpad and Gold "Detail" embossing powder, I heat set first then used my "mask" to cover the flower and repeated the process, once I was happy I then blended over using a blending tool my Distress inks, I used Wilted Violet, Crushed Pumpkin and Blueprint Sketch, I then flicked with water and blotted with paper towel, I then put the card between some baking parchment or greasproof paper and using a hot "dry" iron, no steam! And ironed the card until the design was printed onto the paper, this melts the embossing powder leaving the fab gold design but it's flat and smooth, great for stamping over if you want to, using a knife and ruler I cut some Chevrons into the card and stamped my sentiment from the "Positive Pants" set onto Vellum using the Versamark and Gold detail EP, threaded the vellum through the Chevrons and mounted onto a card base.
